Trifolium campestre Schreb., it is an annual herb, up to 5-50 cm, pubescent, fairly robust, erect or ascending. Upper leaves alternate, leaflets obovate, wedge-shaped, denticulate, the terminal petiolulate, stipules ovate-lanceolate, dilated at the base, shorter than the petiole. Golden yellow flowers, reddish at the end, 20-40 in fairly large, oval, tight heads, peduncles quite stiff, extending beyond the leaf, strongly ridged standard, flattened on the back, curved like a spoon, much longer than the diverging wings, style 3-4 times shorter than the stipitated pod. Seeds 0.9–1.1 x 0.6–0.65 x 0.5 mm, ellipsoid-compressed or ovoid-compressed. Testa smooth, glabrous, shiny, greenish-yellow to orange-yellow, areolate. Shallow spinning depression, circular thread, practically pointed, with a thick edge. Minimal lens, barely discernible under low magnification (<40x), located at c. 0.2–0.25 mm of the thread.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-Apr,   Vern:————–,   Phytochoria: Cosm, ative range is Macaronesia, Europe to Iran, N. & NE.
