Mist

Mist is produced from the air's humidity when the dew point is reached and microdroplets of water or ice are suspended.

Difference between mist and fog

Mist is distinguished from fog by its density: in misty conditions, visibility extends beyond one kilometre.

In maritime jargon, the term mist is preferred to fog.
