Coming in January 2009
In all of my years working in the marine fish business, I have never had the opportunity to handle and condition so many super exotic and rare marine fish all at one time.
Over the last two months, we have been rounding up some of the rarest marine fish, all of which will be posted in the month of January in the Divers Den® section of the LiveAquaria.com web site. Some of these beauties are rarely seen for sale anywhere in the entire world, and one such species, Tank Bred and reared pairs of Amphiption mccullochi have never been offered for sale in the United States until this year. Below is a sampling of what is to come in January 2009, so I encourage everyone who is interested to save those gift certificates and cash presents received from the holidays if you have always dreamed of owning some of these incredible fish. The exact dates of when the fish will be posted will vary depending on when they cooperate for photographs, and their prices and exact sizes will be detailed on the day the fish becomes available in the Divers Den®. All of us here at Drs. Foster and Smith/LiveAquaria will continue to work diligently to offer the best quality and most unique and desirable fish available anywhere in the entire world. Humph. That's it?! I guess I was expecting a ceolocanth. I should keep my mouth shut, because, he'll probably produce it.
As usual, top notch Kevin. You're killing me, man. |

I really NEED to set up a butterfly/angelfish tank. The Wrought Iron is the most striking fish I have ever seen.

What, no Holacanthus limbaughi, Paracentropyge boylei, or Apolemichthys kingi? You cheapskates!!
Just kidding, man! Those are some amazing fish you have there. Due to my job I have been in hundreds, if not thousands of LFS across the US and Canada, along with many public aquariums, and I think I have seen 2 of those fish ever in 20+ years. Great stuff! I am especially digging those Candy Basslets. I think I may have to keep my eye out for those

I saw one of those Wrought Iron Butterflies at Living Sea Aquarium in Chicago area about 6 years ago. If I recall, it was around $2,500.
Truly a STUNNING fish. Oh, and fun story - when I was in there, someone bought it. Overheard them selling it to the guy who did the maintenance for Elton Brand (ex-Bulls) tank. Since he was traded shortly after that, I wonder where that beautiful fish wound up? Or perhaps they used it in the MLS Listing. Lake Forest, IL - stunning 10,000 sf Mediteranean home owned by popular sports figure. Full Viking/SubZ kitchen, state of the art media room, humidor room/wine cellar, pool/outdoor kitchen and the piece de resistance, a stunning Wrought Iron Butterfly fish!! |

Hey Kevin, those are beautiful fish. I'm still wishing I could afford the Dalmation dogface puffer. Any Solomon Islands shipments coming in? I'd really like a black dogface puffer (which I think I CAN manage to afford).
That little blue spotted angel I got from you last month is doing great, eating well, filling out, and swimming with the big fishies. Thank you for your post in the Reef Fishes forum with some tips and history on that fish. I'm setting up another oddball tank soon, so will be on the lookout for those strange little venomous fish I like so much. Also, wondering if there's a chance of any more reticulate boxfish coming in? I should have gotten the second one when I had the chance. The one I have has become a favorite. I am definitely outclassed by these posters in the rare fish department, but I too have been delighted with the selection, quality and service of liveaquaria, Diver's Den in particular. You've built a very loyal customer and fan base.
