Apistogramma cacatuoides double red

This is my 3rd time trying this species...Eventhough they are supposed to be peaceful, it was not the case with these and my previous attempt. For this particular pair, the male kept attacking my two dwarf Gouramis, the female was a bit more calm, but she wouldn't let anyone approach her, but she was not on the hunt like the male. I had to put them in a separate tank. Fish are beautiful and well packaged, but you need to know what you get into when buying this species
