I want Europe to be at the side of women. I want a society where violence against women is prevented, condemned, and prosecuted. Today, we table the rules to halt violence against women – from protection and safe reporting to effective prosecution. Online and offline. Women should be protected the same way across the #EU. This is why we propose to criminalise rape based on the lack of consent, female genital mutilation and several forms of cyber violence in all EU countries. This is a major step towards justice, equality and freedom for all. Read about our proposed EU-wide rules here: https://europa.eu/!Nn3PCH #EU #InternationalWomensDay
"I want a society where violence against women is prevented, condemned, and prosecuted." Is there any society in Europe where this is not being done for decades?
There is also a lot of crime against man by woman. Let's not forget! Most of it financial abuse and taking away there children as well. Do woman think all man are bad? Because I feel woman abuse differently and mostly children get hurt by this fact. Since woman complain man stay children....there are two sides to look at. Ask yourself. Why do We abuse? We have to heal ourselfs and stop all abuse and discrimination to All! By nature We are equal and have equal rights.🙏🌈❤⭐☀️🌱🎶🍀
ZERO TOLERANCE! That is what I am asking for. This is what the European Union works towards. Great work lead by President Ursula von der Leyen - thank you! The way to stop domestic violence is to take action. ZERO TOLERANCE! To never accept. Raise awareness. Life saving measures are early detection and interference. Juridical consequences.
Sorry, I disagree with rape against women, and men... I disagree against violence against women and men. It doesn't matter what percentage., Rape, violence to anyone is wrong in all forms, and against all genders.
I applauded what you are pointing to in this post and I hope it make a a huge difference. However, stopping violence against women will require a fundamental shift in the very condition of being human. The majority of humans who are old enough to read would see the word President and think Man. Similarly for the words doctor or general or dictator or boss etc. We are all born into this condition of being human that holds women in a particular view, which is often lesser than. Women and men are equally constrained within this context. We need to get interested in altering this inherited and age-old condition of being human in order to solve violence against women and indeed all violence. No problem can be solved at the same level it was created and so we will need to escalate ambition and attention to produce the result we want here.
Nice soundbites Ursula, but you have far bigger problems on your un-elected plate. Not least the complete dis-functionality of the EU on your watch. The (not a) Union is a joke at best and a corrupt, money laundering Cabal at worst. You can start by releasing the details of the "negotiations" you did with Pfizer/Moderna/AZ - oh, and your bank statement would be helpful......
When you say Europe, do you mean NATO countries only?
I agreed Ursula von der Leyen, but now your work is to STOP XENOPHOBIA against Russian women/men and companies (big/small) outside and inside Russia. Now, people and governments are making the same mistake that was made with Germany after the first world war, isolating it. And history knows what happened next.

2 añosThis is far too ambitious. Indeed it is important to have a common law criminalizing rape. But how can it be actually fought when the judicial system depends on individual perception... The complaint will be received or not based on the opinion of the police officer, as he's the auto-proclaimed judge of the victim? How do we fight against it and prevent it when in some countries (including France), you go in prison longer for drugs than rape/ violence against women? Again this is in the hand of individuals and not a common ground...
