Pierre Godot is an artist name created in 1982, when Pigo and Tim Renner published the cassette "Das Warten hat sich gelohnt" (The waiting has been worth while) at Renners cassette label "Zukunftsfroh" (merry for the future).
Pigo started making music in 1979, when Punk and New Wave became popular in Germany/Hamburg/Harburg. - Around december 1979 he bought a guitar, bass, drum box and a WASP-synthesizer and cabled together two cassette recorders for ping-pong recording in his room. After doing some experiments like "Flüchter" (fugee) Pigo recorded his first song, the satirical "Zwei Minuten U-Bahnfahrt" (two minutes subway ride). Kind of Electro Kraut Punk with a dull mono sound. This way in 1980 and 1981 the tracks of the now published "Erste Dinge/r zuerst" (first thing/ies first) album were recorded.
In the late 1981 Pigo saw an ad where a cassette label maker looked for artists. A demo tape later he worked out the idea for "Das Warten hat sich gelohnt", which then became Renners first Zukunftsfroh act in 1982.
Since 1982 Pigo continued recording music but didn't published it. Most of these tracks were meant as (lousy) instrumentals, while they'd been (good) songs. In 2017 he turned them to songs, founded the band "Die Godots" and published the album "Nacktschneckendisco" (slug disco) at dance-on-the-noise-floor.blogspot.de .
