Bougainville July 2016

Bougainville with Markus Lagerqvist and Roger McNeill

We were on Bougainville on 23rd – 29th July , we travelled to Buin in the south and then took a very rough road up to Mosioku and then walked up to Lake Luloru, a half moon crater lake. Our highest elevation was 1600m where the habitat was dominated by huge walking palm trees and was really low on bird density. We played tapes for Black-faced Pitta and Moustached Kingfisher very frequently without any response.

Woodfords Rail and Odedi were seen along the road to Panguna Mine.
