Abudefduf vaigiensis

Five dark vertical markings, back often yellowish.

Size : 20 cm

Habitat : At upper edges of rock and coral reefs. 0.5-12 m. In loose to large groups feeding on zooplankton near the reef in open water. Feeds on outgrowth algae. Guards and cares for the eggs laid on fin ground.

Distribution : Red Sea, East Africa to S Japan, Micronesia, GBR and French Polynesia.
