Paddle-flap Scorpionfish

Rhinopias eschmeyeri

Large paddle-shaped tentacle above the eye. Dorsal fin not gashed. Only a few and typically unbranched skin tassels. Variable colouration, often pale red to purple or orange to brownish.

Size : 21 cm

Habitat : Inhabits sand and rubble on out reefs, 3-55 m.

Distribution : Mauritius to the Philippines and East Indonesia.
