Lutjanus monostigma

Red eye. All fins yellow. Sometimes white a black spot on the side at the rear.

Size : 55 cm

Habitat : Prefers out reefs, also in lagoons, 5-60 m. Alone or in small loose groups. Often around wrecks and reef edges with caves and overhangs. Hunts fish, predominantly at night.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, Line Island and French Polynesia.
