Orange-red. First dorsal fin with white tips.
Size : 20 cm
Habitat : Prefers outer reef slopes, 3-80 m. Floats immobile in groups, sometimes in larger shoals, in caves or below overhangs during the day, usually below 10 m depth.
Distribution : Seychelles, Madagascar, the Mascarenes to SW Japan, Hawaii, Micronesia, New Caledonia and French Polynesia.
