Ante Zizic has terminated his collaboration with Anadolu Efes, and shortly after, he signed with Virtus, as confirmed by the black-and-white team on social media.
The Croatian center spent the last two years with the team from Istanbul, and before that, he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv. He will be able to make his debut for the Italian club in the 18th round of the EuroLeague, which is scheduled for the first two days of the new year. Virtus will face Bayern.
The move by the Italian giant was logical. Davontae Cacok suffered a serious injury in the game against Partizan, and the former NBA player was brought in as his replacement. His contract is valid until 2026.
Ante Zizic is not the only player Virtus has brought in recently. Rihards Lomazs joined Luca Banchi’s team during this week.
He was drafted in 2016 by the Boston Celtics and has played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. He started this season well but suffered an injury, and after returning to the court, he averaged only four minutes and scored just one basket (two points against Baskonia).
Up to that point, he averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and had a PIR of 11.3 per game in 10 appearances in the EuroLeague.
