The most obscure Simpsons controversy is the one about the Homer-shaped DVD box set

"The Simpson's season 6 DVD case sticks out like a sore thumb," writes Kid Leaves Stoop. "Homer's Simpson's plastic head is the bane of DVD collectors' existence."

The case—hated not so much for its Homeric design as for its inappropriate size and cheapest-vendor flimsiness—became a bête noire among the sort of people who buy DVD box sets. Then the Simpsons people found a way to make it worse: a website where people could sign up to receive normal packaging has exposed the personal addresses of every one of them.
