This 1970 BMW R75/5 is finished in silver and powered by a 745cc opposed twin paired with a four-speed transmission. Equipment includes an enclosed driveshaft, a dual exhaust system, a center stand, Progressive shocks, passenger grab handles, and both kick and electric starters. The bike was acquired by its current owner in New Jersey in 2015 and was subsequently relocated to California. Work in preparation for the sale included repainting the fuel tank and front fender, overhauling the twin Bing carburetors and petcocks, changing the fluids, reupholstering the two-up seat, and replacing the valve covers, fork gaiters, fuel lines, and fuel filters. This R75/5 is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner, a retail dealer, with an owner’s manual, a tool roll, a December 1970 copy of Cycle World Magazine, Chilton’s and Clymer manuals, and a clean California title.

The front fender and fuel tank were reportedly repainted in BMW Metallic Silver with blue pinstripes to match the rear fender in preparation for sale. Additional equipment includes a polished mirror, a center stand, and passenger grab handles. A tire pump is housed beneath the reupholstered two-up seat, and corrosion is noted on some fasteners.

Wire-spoke wheels measuring 19″ up front and 18″ out back wear Bridgestone tires that the seller reports should be replaced due to age. Braking is handled by drums at both ends. Suspension consists of a leading-axle fork with replacement rubber gaiters as well as dual Progressive shocks mounted to the swingarm on the left and the final drive enclosure on the right.

The chrome handlebar is mounted to the top triple clamp via a riser in front of a friction steering damper. A MotoMeter combination gauge housed within the headlight bucket contains a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, 100 of which have been ridden under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The seller states that paint has chipped off one of the odometer’s digits.

The 745cc opposed twin is equipped with a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe as well as both kick and electric starters. Factory-rated output was 50 horsepower and 44 lb-ft of torque. Work in preparation for sale included overhauling the twin Bing carburetors and petcocks, changing the oil, and replacing the valve covers, fuel lines, and in-line fuel filters. The fuel tank is said to have been resealed under prior ownership.
