Parapercis és un gènere de peixos de la família dels pingüipèdids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[1]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba a l'Atlàntic sud-oriental, l'Atlàntic oriental (Cap Verd) i des del mar Roig i el golf Pèrsic fins a Sud-àfrica, Maurici, Reunió,[2] les illes Seychelles, Moçambic, les illes Maldives, el Pakistan, l'Índia, Tailàndia, la Xina (com ara, Hainan), Taiwan,[3] el Japó (incloent-hi les illes Ryukyu),[4] la península de Corea,[5] el Vietnam, les illes Filipines, Indonèsia, Papua Nova Guinea, les illes Salomó, Austràlia (incloent-hi la Gran Barrera de Corall, Tasmània, l'illa de Lord Howe i l'illa Norfolk),[6] Nova Zelanda,[7] Nova Caledònia, Tonga,[8] les illes Marshall, Kiribati, Samoa, Fiji, Pitcairn, les illes Hawaii i l'arxipèlag Juan Fernández (Xile).[9][10][11]

Parapercis atlantica,[71] Parapercis colias,[72] Parapercis signata,[73] Parapercis somaliensis,[74] Parapercis striolata[75] i Parapercis xanthozona[76] apareixen a la Llista Vermella de la UICN.
