Huther Tabbed As MPSF Offensive Player Of The Week

BERKELEY - Sophomore attacker Bella Huther was named the MPSF Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for her standout performance in leading the California women's lacrosse team to a 12-10 comeback victory over Colorado last Sunday.

Huther tied her personal-best with seven points on four goals and three assists. She scored three of those four goals in the second half to lead the charge in the Bears' comeback.

"Bella is a standout attacker for us and really steps up when we need it the most," head coach Brooke Eubanks said. "This is not just a win for Bella, but for our whole team. She lead the way in our win against Colorado."

Huther's scores came at critical times as she scored her third goal to cut the the Colorado lead to one halfway through the second half. She then assisted on the game-tying goal, and later garnered two more points to help extend the Bears' lead.

Huther is Cal's leading scorer this season with 41 points on 33 goals and 8 assists. 

Cal fans can catch Huther and the rest of the lacrosse team against Stanford on Sunday, April 26, at noon from Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium.
