Who is who ?

My Cherry Merry Muffin doll collection

1988 basic characters

All about muffins. Their characters and names were inspired by classic muffin flavours. They all had similar dresses, aprons, muffins with pans and matching little kitchen tool helpers.

Betty Berry, Chocolottie, Cherry Merry Muffin, Apple Amy and Banancy with their cute little helpers called L’il Dip, Chocolate Drop, Cherry Sweet, Apple Buddy and Bitty Banana.

The more individually dressed 1989 dolls

The second release out of two returning and four new characters included some classic muffin flavoured dolls again, but also two dolls that were more about sweets in genral. They didn‘t have helpers, but they wore cake shaped hats. Their muffins had a different shape, compared to the 1988 muffins. Cherry Merry got a new headmold with a bright white smile.

Bubblegum Becky (Trudi Frutti), Penny Peppermint, Chocolottie, Cherry Merry Muffin, Greta Grape and Lily Vanilli with their "Cake Hats"

1990 Ice Cream Girls

No muffins anymore and lots of sparkle ... the last edition was still called Cherry Merry Muffin, but it was all about icecream. They came with nameless helpers looking like clear icecream cups and little pink spoons. There was an other chocolate themed doll, but Cherry Merry was the only character that appeared again. This time twice, as a pale and a dark skinned version.

Only two of the dolls still had the cute original headmold which was used for „It’s A Small World“ (Mattel/Disney) too and seemed to be some kind of model for other toylines like „Li‘l Secrets“ (Mattel 1993), „Little Sparklin‘ Clouds“ (Mattel 2001) or „Mermaid Princess“ (TNT).

Peach Perfection, Cookies´n Cream, Cherry Merry Muffin, Cherry Merry Muffin, Grape Ice and their nameless little "Glass"-Friends

The doll on the right has got a warmer haircolor than the others. I don‘t know if there are more dolls like this or if the hair color changed over time.

Bubblegum Becky Couture

Betty Berry Hair Types

Different types of Betty Berry hair – soft fluffy kanekalon hair (left side) and stronger shiny nylon hair (on the right). Banancy has been spotted with these two hairtypes too.

Peachy and Perfect

Two versions of Peach Perfection hair color and dress – with darker hair, wearing a normal dress and with lighter hair and a rare glossy collar dress. There are some Peach Perfection dolls with bright pink hair too, but I don‘t own one.

Best Friends

Cherry Merry Muffin doll Lily Vanilly and It‘s A Small World Japan doll came with dresses made out of the same fabric. They are so lovely together 🌸💕
