A large Sand sifter from Lake Malawi that feeds on small critters that a are often swallowed when in action in the sand. A large tank, some large boulders and a long open bed of sand is the best Aquascape for the Fossorochromis Rostratus. As it matures, it will develop highly reflective Turquoise scales mainly on the mid to upper parts of the body. The bottom will mostly remain a distinctive translucent Carbon Black. They are classified as semi aggressive, but this could change drastically while competing for a female.
