On 01/04/2023, I purchased a ticket through the "Trainline" platform to travel from Berlin to Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle CDG T2 Airport, with the first leg covering the route from Berlin to Cologne and from Cologne to Brussels by Deutsche Bahn ICE 14, and the second leg by SNCF TGV 9844. On the same day, I booked a flight from Berlin to Paris with AirFrance as a precaution for any unforeseen events during the train journey.

On the day of the trip, 03/07/2023, we checked through the Deutsche Bahn app that everything was as expected. However, upon arriving in Cologne (on the ICE952) to make the connection and catch the ICE14, we were surprised to learn that the route was under maintenance, and our train would actually depart from Aachen. Due to a lack of transport options between Cologne and Aachen that would allow us to reach Paris airport on time, we rushed and boarded the only available train, operated by Thalys, which took us to Gare Du Nord instead of the airport, as initially planned. We paid 218 EUR for the Thalys ticket and traveled sitting in the aisle next to the trash due to the lack of available seats.

Upon arriving at Gare Du Nord, we had to invest an additional 95 EUR in a taxi. All of our effort was focused on getting to Paris airport on time to not miss the non-refundable Business Class tickets.

Since departing from Berlin, at no point were we assisted by the Deutsche Bahn staff. Due to us successfully managing all the inconvenience caused by Deutsche Bahn, which, despite being aware of the refurbishment in Koln two months prior to our trip, did not indicate in the app or send us an email warning about the refurbishment that canceled our second journey, I request the full reimbursement of expenses incurred, totaling $282.68 for train tickets, 218 EUR for Thalys, and 95 EUR for the taxi.

I have booked a ticket from Budapest to Frankfurt. Due to an accident I was not able to travel (I shared the medical papers with DB). Before my travel was due I contacted DB via phone, e-mail and contact form to check on my possibilities of rebooking the ticket. Never received any reply on any of them. The person who answered my call did not understand my situation at all and was of no help

Sehre geehrte Dammen und Herren,

Vor 3 Tagen habe ich ein Ticket von Düsseldorf nach Prag und zurück für Ende Juni gekauft, aber leider wurde mein Urlaubsplan storniert und ich musste das Ticket ändern. Heute bin ich zu Ihrer Deutschen Bahn-Filiale gegangen und habe mich dort gemeldet, aber sie haben es getan Helfen Sie mir nicht und sagten, dass es nicht möglich sei, oder sie wiederholten sich, oder gehen Sie auf eine Reise, oder Ihr Geld wird nicht zurückerstattet.

Ich habe viel Geld für dieses Ticket bezahlt, und wenn Sie meinen Namen und meine Daten überprüfen, reise ich Ich fahre mehrmals im Jahr diese Route, um mein Kind zu sehen. Meine Frau reist nach Tschechien.

My train didnt turn up 3 times over the course of an hour from Hackescher Markt there was no notification of these trains turning up and I had to get a taxi I am extremely annoyed I had to spend 49.99 euros to get a taxi from the airport I want my 4 euro plus the price of the taxi back I was nearly stranded in Berlin and nearly missed my flight I couldnt find a help desk within the train station also

I was travelling on the 7th of July from Kassel to Frankfurt Airport and about 24 minutes from Frankfurt the train has stopped and returned to Kassel I have lost my flight and I have re booke everything again. I have been told that the train was not late more than two hours. That's totally unacceptable because the train has cancelled everything and returned to Kassel

Worst train service in mainland Europe!

This was almost as bad as UK rail. I´d used Spanish & French to get that far (both great) then its was DBs turn.

Useless at every turn.

Staff that didn´t care, trains that kept changing platforms at the last minute forcing hundreds of people to literally run to the other end of the station or in one case scramble to get a train to a completely different station.

The carriages were old & dirty. My journey was 3 hours late & after months of trying to get compensation they refused saying "sometimes trains are late & we can´t help it"

The weird thing is you hear so many good things about Germany then you find out most Germans think their own railway system is terrible & you find out why!

I call the customer service, since she doesnt speak English, she transferred me to another department and after waiting an hour, no one answer the phone and it cost me another euros on my phone billing. DB customer service is poor. I think they dont like to entertain for a foreign customer. If they cannot help the customer, why not directly tell the customer. Not making the customer waiting for nothing.

Dear Deutsche Bahn,

I wanted to get in touch with you about my Deutschland ticket cancellation. On the 28th of this month, I cancelled my ticket through the regular process.

After noticing that I had received a payment notification again for January, I checked and apparently I was supposed to cancel before the 10th of december in order not to pay for January. I find this deadline absolutely ridiculous for an online procedure. When I subscribed, on the 14th of october, I paid in full for the whole month and the offer was effective immediately. How then is the cancellation policy so much more complicated, especially not being a German speaker nor an English native speaker?

I moved back to Italy on the 15th of december.

As a result, in addition to having paid for 14 days more than needed on october and 16 on december, I will pay for another additional month. In short, at the end of my two month stay in Berlin, I will have paid for four months' worth of tickets.

I really regret the way this whole procedure has been handled and I would like to request a refund of january's fare.

DB did not notice me when they automatically extand my monthly ticket. I do not know that the ticket will be extend automatically. DB should contact me after 1 month but they did not. They contact me after 2 months and gave me a bill and force me to pay 2 months ticket. However I did not travel in German anymore. I came back Finland in the end of December but they force me to pay the ticket for January and February without using it.

On Saturday morning Nov. 25, 2023 I booked 2 train First class tickets from Frankfurt airport to Stuttgart train station and my master card was charged Euro 53.80 but did not receive a confirmation of the booking and checked my e mail nothing there , then I booked a gain 2 tickets with 2 seats and my master card was charged Euro 65.60 same problem I did not receive confirmation of the booking . Rude Customer Service Counter Worker at Munich Hbf

Rude worker at Customer Service counter at Munich Hauptbahnhof. He didn't understood simple English but acted like he did understand. Then he proceeded to print the tickets with double confirming, and it was not the place I wanted to go to. When I told him it was wrong, he tore the papers and threw them in the air. The worker is a plump middle-aged man with spectacles working at the Munich Hauptbahnhof DB customer service counter.

I cancelled my Deutschland ticket in October. When I cancelled my ticket I got a email saying they will cancel end of November but for November I never got a ticket on my DB app. Today I got an email from DB saying I have an outstanding balance of 55 euros. I never got a ticket for November but surprisingly I have to pay for the month of November. Attached in this mail is a pdf from DB. Im kindly asking you to recheck the misunderstanding.
