Ousmane Dembélé, another star in Paris

Ousmane Dembélé has joined Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona. The world champion, who will wear the number 23, has signed for 5 seasons.

Born in Vernon (Eure) in May 1997, Ousmane Dembélé joined the Stade Rennais youth academy in 2010. Five years later, he made his first professional appearance for the Breton club in a Ligue 1 match against Angers SCO. He finished the 2015-2016 season with a total of 12 goals and 5 assists in 29 matches in all competitions.

Voted Ligue 1's best prospect at the end of his first season in the top flight, the ambidextrous winger caught the eye of Borussia Dortmund's directors and moved to Germany. With BVB, Ousmane Dembélé made 49 appearances for 10 goals in 2016-2017 and won his first title with a German Cup triumph.

That season in Germany also saw him play his first minutes in the Champions League (10 matches, 2 goals, 6 assists) and, above all, make his first appearance for the French national team. Called up by Didier Deschamps at the end of the summer of 2016, the France international celebrated his first cap on 1 September of the same year in a friendly against Italy.

A fast, skilful attacking player, Ousmane Dembélé was eventually transferred to Barcelona in the 2017 summer transfer window. In six seasons with the Blaugrana, he made 185 appearances, scoring 40 goals and providing 43 assists. He also added three Spanish league titles (2018, 2019 and 2023), two Spanish Cups (2018 and 2021) and two Spanish Supercups (2018 and 2023) to his list of honours.

Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembélé was also part of the French team's incredible run to the World Cup in Russia in 2018. Four years later, he reached the final of the World Cup in Qatar with Les Bleus. At the age of 26, he has now won 37 caps for France, scoring 4 goals.

"I'm delighted to be joining Paris Saint-Germain and can't wait to play for my new club, said Ousmane Dembélé. I hope I can continue to grow here and make all the club's fans proud.

We are delighted to welcome Ousmane Dembélé to Paris Saint-Germain where he will be an important and committed player for our Club, said Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The passion and determination shown by Ousmane as he has signed for PSG is fantastic and perfectly corresponds to the attitude required of all of our players. We are proud to be able to bring another French World Cup winner to Paris Saint-Germain as we enter a new great era for our Club.
