103 245 at München Hbf, 17/10/16 (JW)
The Deutsche Bundesbahn Class 103 electric locomotives are arguably one of the most well-known and instantly recognisable in the world.
149 of these 9,980hp, 200km/h machines – 4 prototypes (103 001–103 004) and 145 production locos (103 101–103 245) – were built, but only 17 remain extant.
One of them, 103 106, had an operational life of just 105 days – being all but destroyed in the tragic Rheinweiler derailment of 21st July 1971.

103 222 of Railadventure can be hired with a panoramic dome car via Luxon – although I can imagine that this isn’t cheap!
