My collection

Lots of pics so it’s below the fold.

Shelf 1-1: Misc Console Games
1-1 1-1BEmit (PSX), Himawari: Pebble in the Sky (PS2, PSP)
Xbox 360: Code 18, Dream Club, Dream Club Zero, Galgun, Idolmaster, Idolmaster Live For You, Idolmaster 2, WLO, Ore no Yome

1-1ASaturn: Snatcher, Yu-No.
PSX: Suikogaiden (unlabeled), Suikogaiden 2, Policenauts, Otogirisou.
GBA: Zone of the Enders – The Fist of Mars
Dreamcast: Shirotsume Souwa – Episode of the Clovers
PS2: Higurashi Matsuri – Kakera Asobi, Kimikiss, Sakura Wars 5, Shadow of Memories
PS3: 428 Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de, Date-A-Live, White Album
PSP: Hakuoki, Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi, Danganrompa, Sweet Fuse
NDS: 999, Again, Another Code, Ace Attorney 1-3-4, Ace Attorney Investigations  1-2, Hotel Dusk, Last Window, Lifesigns, Love Plus, Love Plus+, Lux-Pain, Nanashi no Game, Nanashi no Game Me, Time Hollow, Sprung
Wii: Another Code R

  • There’s Idolm@ster and GalGun. And melon soda bottles and a Kit-Kat box. I said misc.
  • Celery because Hatsune Miku demanded it.
  • I’m still not entirely sure how I own Shirotsume Souwa for Dreamcast, but I do.
  • I don’t actually own Phoenix Wright 3 for DS, but I got all three for iOS.
  • I have too many copies of Himawari (this is the PSP special edition that comes with the PS2 version, also got PC and iOS).
  • That packet next to ZoE: Fist of Mars is the bonus for Hakuoki.
  • I actually own Yu-No for Saturn as well. Somehow.
  • A bit obscured, but the one on the extreme left is Emit for PSX. That copy was sealed, sealed alll the way from the mid-nineties to be exact. The shrinkwrap had all but dissolved into petroleum. It’s not visible in the screenshots, but the box has a stain where a sticker was placed over the film: the glue seeped in and down to the box. You bet I had to wash my hands after taking that thing off.

Shelf 1-2: Romeo Tanaka
1-2 1-2BKana: Okaeri, Hoshizora Planet Yume Bako, Ima/Family Project/Hoshizora/Kana for PSP, Chanter, Otaku Masshigura, Saihate no Ima, Family Project fandisc, Yume Miru Kusuri (Eng and JP), Family Project, Kana (Eng)

1-2ACross Channel: PC 2003, Reprint (right), Xbox 360 Collector’s, Xbox 360 normal (below the PC 2003 box), PSP, PS2.

  • That’s six copies of them.  The PSP and PS2 cover look sort of ugly and washed out, I think they went too hard on that blue tint. Behind you can see the Materials Book and [mof mof error]
  • The Xbox 360 version is internally in 1280×960, including the majority of the new artwork as well as much (but not all) of the version-exclusive ones – that’s why the patch will include them. You wouldn’t know it by seeing it on a big screen, however. Among the 360 VNs I’ve tried, it’s one of the ugliest to look at.
  • The Xbox 360 Collector’s edition is the one with the infamous massager. I stress it’s a massager, not a vibrator; the opposite would be as absurd as claiming that Miki was inspired by Hermione and the author all but explicitly says so in an extra scenario included with the patch, a fact I will eternally refuse to acknowledge because of come on.
I’m not unpacking the “massager” and it’s tough to see through the packing, suffice to say that it’s small; think “thumb”. There’s a joke in there, but everyone has already made it on reading that so there’s no point repeating it. Have the SDCG instead:
Massager SDCGIt doesn’t look that good, it’s silvery and a lot plainer. Yes, it plays a uhhh part in the After Story. Best not questioned too closely. Hmmm, orange is FF7F00 – 16, 16, 7, 16.
  • The Family Project fandisc box is way too big.
  • Yume Miru Kusuri doesn’t like being installed with a different language version. I point this out because I just know it’s gonna be an accidental self-hate allegory or something about the incommunicability between languages and stuff, or maybe I’m overthinking this for once (it’s the latter).
  • That’s the unvoiced version of Saihate no Ima, I got the voice edition as downloadable.
  • Most of the boxes don’t have anything interesting inside (except that massager), except the big box version of Kana: Okaeri.
Kana OkaeriMousepad, soundtrack, coasters, 2005 calendar and A WALL CLOCK. That’s one of the most ridiculous gadgets I got from one of these.

Shelf 1-3: Type-Moon
1-3 1-3B
Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua (PSP), F/SN Anime, Fate/Extra, Melty Blood Act Cadenza, Tsuki-Bako
1-3AMelty Blood, Melty Blood ReAct, Carnival Phantasm Season 1-3, Type-Moon Anniversary

  • And also Tanaka-related books because they don’t fit up there (that’s Aura, Jintai and misc novelizations that aren’t actually his and are written off treatments and are uniformly crap).
  • Got Fate/Unlimited Codes on PSN just before they took it down.
  • Season 3 of Carnival Phantasm gives you the box to collect the rest of the seasons. This is a complete set, including Melty Blood: Actress Again. I own normal, Re-Act and Act Cadenza as well, so that should be all of them.
  • Although far from the most expensive thing I own, the Tsuki-Bako was one of the toughest to procure, so here’s some pics:
Tsuki-Bako 1Tsuki-Bako 2And of course, no picture set would be complete without this marvel of English writing from the box itself:Tsuki-Bako 3
  • PS2 F/SN Realta Nua came with a PSP Hanafuda game (box not really visible), I think it’s just a port of the one that comes with Hollow Ataraxia.
  • Books are DDD 1&2, Kara no Kyoukai (1-2-3-Mirai Fukuin), Fate/Zero (all), All Around Type-Moon 1-2 and of course Take-Moon.
  • Seriously considered getting a Kara no Kyoukai movie box set, but it’s crazy at $1000+. No point in the cheap version, really, which is like $300 anyway.

Shelf 1-4: Nitroplus & Alice Soft
1-4 1-4A
Left pile: Phantom Integration, Vampirdzhija Vjedogonia, Demonbane, Demonbane 2, Azatoth D, Jingai Makyou, Song of Saya, Sabbat Nabe, Gekkou no Carnevale, Nitro+ Royale, Muramasa Janen Hen, Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas, Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi
Vertical: Tenshi no Nichou Kenjuu – Angelos Armas, Muramasa, Axanael, SoniComi, Lamento: Beyond the Void
1-4BN+Chiral pile (bottom to top): Togainu no Chi, Chiralmori, Sweet Pool, DRAMAtical Murder, DRAMAtical Murder Re: Connect
Alicesoft pile (top to bottom): Rance 5D, Rance VI, Rance Quest Magnum, Dabanchou, Dalk Gaiden, Darcrows, Galzoo Island, Pastel Chime, Pastel Chime Continue/Pascha C++
Alicesoft big boxes: Alice no Yakata 4-5-6, Pastel Chime 3, Alice 2010, Daiteikoku, Rance Quest, Sengoku Rance, Rance 01 remake, Alice no Yakata 7

  • There’s a poster behind the Nitroplus collection but now that everything is in front of it it’s nearly invisible. 😦
  • That rolled up thing back there is the scroll that came with SoniComi. I am not putting it up anywhere. I am more actively ashamed at owning SoniComi than anything else.
  • To wit, inside the SoniComi box there’s this:
Yuck1There’s a pic of Sonico on one side, and you gotta put yours in the other.
You can remove the Sonico pic and put another there, but look at the title:
Yuck2Yeesh. It gives me the creeps in the way no tentacle rape nukige ever could.
  • Demonbane and Saya are JAST USA versions, Sumaga and Outlaw Django are missing as I’m waiting for their version (obvious comment here).
  • Saya soundtrack for obvious reasons (to set ZiZZ’s Schizophrenia as ringtone and scare the plebe, naturally).
  • Nitro+Chiral right next to Alice Soft: strange bedfellows (hee hee). The Lamento box is pretty fragile so it’s not in the pile (hee hee).
  • That’s all of the non-freeware Rance games currently on sale.
  • I was totally sure that I had bought Beat Angel Escalayer, but I didn’t. Well, it’s coming next week or something.
  • The Alice no Yakata 7 box is waaaay too big!

Shelf 1-5: Big Boxes Misc
1-51-5C
Time Leap, Yosuga no Sora (bottom), Haruka na Sora (back), Time Leap Paradise)

1-5B

Mashiro-iro Symphony, Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai, OreTsuba Prologue & Afterstory, Sayonara wo Oshiete, Katahane

1-5AHello World, 20th Century Alice, France Shoujo, Tiny Dungeon 1-4

  • Hello World is there because box too big. This edition is old enough it doesn’t even install on Windows 7.
  • 20th Century Alice is there because box too big.
  • It may not look like it squeezed in there, but the France Shoujo box is even bigger than the two above. It’s among the biggest boxes I own. If you’re wondering: bedsheets.
  • Tiny Dungeon has big box.
  • No, I wasn’t crazy enough to spend $crazy for a ‘proper’ copy of Sayonara wo Oshiete. It’s just the cheaper AsoBD version.
  • The Time Leap box must be among the heaviest, definitely is by size. The only extra is a giant book with storyboards for like every scene. It’s as huge as it is pointless.

Shelf 1-6 FrontWing and Misc
1-6 1-6A
Grisaia 1-3, Makai Tenshi Djibril 1-4, Chocolat, Parfait, Concerto Note, Sister Magic!, Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro na, Fortune Arterial, Aiyoku no Eustia, 11 Eyes: Resona Forma

1-6BBoin + Resort Boin, Bloody Rondo, Canvas 2, Castle Fantasia Renewal, Euphoria, Koi Suru Oukoku, Koi Suru Otome to Shugo no Tate, Kansen 5, Men at Work! 2, Minna Daisuki Kozukuri Banchou, Setsuei, Setsuei: Visual Renewal, Sora no Iro Umi no Iro, Subarashiki Hibi, Wanko to Kurasou, Taimanin Asagi 3

  • My copy of Grisaia 1 doesn’t have anything on the front flap for some reason (back is just the tech data). Suspect misprint.
  • The ones below don’t have the titles, but they’re Djibril 1-4. Missing Sengoku Djibril (incoming).
  • That’s both Setsuei and the Visual Renewal Version (redone graphics for whatever reason).
  • The book on bottom came with 11Eyes: Resona Forma; the book leaning on the side came with the Grisaia 3 preorder.

Shelf 2-1 Xbox 360 Collector Editions
2-1 2-1A11 Eyes CrossOver, Dunamis 15, Disorder 6, Ever 17, Instant Brain, MajiTen, No Fate! Only Power of Will, Phantom of Infermo, Root Double, Sharin no Kuni Himawari no Shoujo

2-1BMuv-Luv Total Eclipse, Muv-Luv + Muv-Luv Alternative

  • The Dunamis15 box comes with the actual earphones. The design is similar, but simplified, from the one on the box. They are foldable, but the whole thing feels very delicate.
  • Instant Brain (from shooter developer Cave) looks like a PS2 game running on emulator, it is even uglier than Cross Channel on the big screen. It has the graphics design of a nukige, too. I actually haven’t tried the Kinect controls, but we all know how those are gonna be, right?
  • The Muv-Luv set comes with a Figma. It is the only one I own.

Shelf 2-2 GIANT ROBOTS
2-2 2-2A
Muv-Luv Altered Fable, Muv-Luv Alternative Chronicles 1-4, Muv-Luv Alternative, Muv-Luv Supplement, Muv Luv, Evangelion: Koutetsu no Girlfriend, Evangelion: Koutetsu no Girlfriend 2nd, Duel Savior Justice, Xross Scramble, Otome Crisis

2-2BBaldrhead, Baldrfist, Baldr Force Exe, Baldr Sky Dive 1, Baldr Sky Dive 2, Baldr Sky Dive X, Baldr Sky Zero

  • Yes, I own Muv-Luv Altered Fable.
  • That’s the old 4 CD version of Evangelion: Girlfriend of Steel. Curiously, it’s far less expensive than the later remake.
  • Kept Otome Crisis etc. close by, but the rest is the actual Baldr series, including the strategy guide for Baldrhead and the recent Baldr Sky Zero.
  • Baldr Sky is not about bald people skydiving, which is disappointment.

Shelf 2-3 Rares & Expensive
2-3 2-3A
Knights of Xentar, Giniro: Silver Color, Pia Carrot Complete Box, Katawa Shoujo, Otogirisou (SNES)

2-3B99 Spirits, Words Worth XP, Kaiki! Drill Otoko no Kyoufu

2-3CKanno Hiroyuki Memorial, Elf Classics

  • Giniro comes both in DVD and 2 CD (same content) in the same box, and Knights of Xentar is sadly in German.
  • Katawa Shoujo hardcopy in a ‘heart’ bag! I also put the oppai mousepad inside (it’s sold separately).
  • I got that Otogirisou for SNES almost cheaper than the one for PSX (shelf 1-1).
  • I own Words Worth! Who the hell owns Words Worth???
  • The box for Kaiki! Drill Otoko no Kyoufu is unbelievably cheap. It only really has a very thin front side, there’s nothing on the back, and it all really stinks of cardboard. Inside, there’s the CD (in a sleeve) and some cards for a game called Manko. I suspect the only reason is for the box to advertise “free Manko inside” without lying. (TL Note: Manko means pussy.)
  • The Kanno Hiroyuki Memorial has the box front in English for reasons unfathomable.
  • I thought Elf Classics (technically called the Elf Adult Can) would be like plastic and with a pulltab-shaped cork or something, but no, it’s actually a proper tin box with a pull tab. It’s sealed, and it’s staying like that. It’s a sealed can containing Japanese porn, who’d be so stupid as to open it?
  • The most expensive thing on this shelf (and in the collection, actually) is actually 99 Spirits. There were only about a dozen copies made of that particular box.

Shelf 2-4 LiarSoft & Overflow
2-4 2-4ASteampunk Full Voice Reborn Mega Engine Box, Hikari no Valusia, Shiei no Sona-nyl, Ourai no Gahkthun, Ourai no Gahkthun: Shining Night, Cannonbal, Okujou no Yurirei-san

2-4BCross Days, Shiny Days, School Days HQ

  • The Engine Box for FullVoice Reborn is just the normal boxes plus the soundtracks jammed in a rather thin sleeve. I was really disappointed!
  • Not pictured: Forest, Born Freaks!, Sapphism no Gensou, Seven-Bridge, Kusarihime (downloadable). And the Souten no Celenaria Fandisk. Can’t forget that one.
  • If your holding is called Stack and your company Overflow and your games are full of troll and bugs, you’re too clever by nine-tenths.
  • The bracelet is extra and does not come with the Collector’s Edition.

Shelf 2-5 Key
2-5Kanon, Air, Clannad, Tomoyo After, Planetarian, Little Busters!, Kud Wafter, Rewrite, Rewrite: Harvest Festa, MOON., One: To The Radiant Season, Planetarian (PS2), Clannad (Xbox 360)

  • I own too many copies of Planetarian (PC box, PS2, iOS). I also own the iOS book-like thing that runs on the same engine as Planetarian but is just the transcript of the drama CDs. Being on that engine means you can switch vertical and horizontal text and it looks prettier than a typical eBook reader. The boxed version also comes with the drama CDs themselves.
  • I normally limit myself to one copy per game, so Kanon, Air, Clannad and Tomoyo After are the easily available Memorial Editions.
  • That Rewrite Harvest Festa box is just too big.
  • MOON.

Exposition box of Amagami Ebikore+
The Mating Rituals of Alpha Centaurians - The Videogame

  • My bad, that’s the actual game box.
  • Below, the two dakimakura covers I own: Barkley 2(???) and 99 Spirits.
  • Of course I own dakimakura, who do you take me for?

Shelf 3-1 Leaf, Eushully, Misc
3-1 3-1ATo Heart, To Heart 2, To Heart 2: Another Days, White Album 2 Introductory & Closing Chapters, Tears to Tiara

3-1BUtawarerumono
Eushully: Himegari Dungeon Meister, Kamidori Alchemy Meister, Ikusa Megami Zero, Ikusa Megami Verita

3-1C

Koi to Senkyo to Chocholate, Love & Piss, Nekonade Distortion, Secret Game Complete Box, Sisters: Natsu no Saigo no Hi Ultra Edition, Trample on Schatten!!, Yin-Yang: X-Change Alternative 2

  • Damn the Tears to Tiara box is big. And empty.
  • I own Dat Pee game. It says “Pi!” in yellow English next to the title. This is why I love this stuff.

Shelf 3-2 Hirameki, English misc, MangaGamer

3-2 3-2AAi Yori Aoshi, Animamundi, Amusement Park, Dragonia, Day of Love, Ever 17, Exodus: Guilty Vol. 1-2-3, Hourglass of Summer, Ishika & Honori, Phantom of Infermo, Tea Society of a Witch

3-2BAdam: The Double Factor, Anime Sexy Kingdom, Bible Black, Bible Black II, Cleo: After The Big Shine, Hentai Panic, If My Heart Had Wings, Synkha 1-2-3, Sugar’s Delight, The 39 Steps, Viper M1, Viper RSR (unlabeled), Viper V16
DearDrops, Da Capo, Da Capo OST, Da Capo II, Edelweiss Double Set, Go! Go! Nippon, OtoBoku Limited Edition

  • The Hirameki collection is complete except for That One Damn Elusive Game That’s Rare And Needlessly Expensive. It’s naturally Piece of Wonder.
  • I have really really bad lightning in some of these rooms, as you can see.
  • Anime Sexy Kingdom, Cleo, and Hentai Panic are just random anime and animesque  stuff I bought back in the ’90s when Internet was a pipe dream, but it’s still porn.
  • The unlabeled single disc between the other Viper games is Viper RSR.
  • I own most of the MangaGamer stuff download, so there’s not much hardcopy. I also got Higurashi, but it’s below.

Shelf 3-3 JAST, jewel case various
3-3 3-3A
Absolute Obedience, Amorous Professor Cherry, Aselia the Eternal, Bazooka Cafe, Brave Soul, Cat Girl Alliance, Come See Me Tonight 1-2, Cosplay Fetish Academy, Crescendo, Critical Point, Discipline, Do You Like Horny Bunnies? 1-2, JAST USA Memorial Collection SE, Enzai, Yukkuri Panic!, Gibo, Heart de Roommate, Hitomi, Idols Galore!, Let’s Meow Meow!, Lightning Warrior Raidy 1-2, Moero 1-2-3, My Girlfriend is the Presient, Pick Me Honey!

3-3BPrincess Waltz, Pretty Soldier Wars, Secret Wives’ Club, Slave Pageant, Snow Drop, Snow Sakura, Target Pheromone, The Sagara Family, Tokimeki Check-in!, Tsuki, Virgin Roster, Water Closet

3-3CLove Potion, Lula 2, Desire, Divi-Dead, Eve Burst Error, Heartwork, X-Change, X-Change 3, Yin-Yang, May Club

  • These are most of the ones on sale as of recently, rest I got downloadable.
  • Yes, I own a hardcopy of Eve Burst Error, Divi-Dead, Love Potion, May Club, and most importantly, WC.
  • Also Lula 2. It’s from Germany which is like next to France which is basically Japan.

Shelf 3-4 Japanese various, Sono Hanabira, Minatosoft
3-4 3-4A11 Eyes Crossover, 12 Riven, A-GA, Bishoujo Mangekyou 1-2, Dies Irae Acta Est Fabula, Metal Princess + Gunsister, Hadaka Shitsuji, I/O Revision II, Kurai Heya, Love Love H-Maid, Narcissu 3, My Girlfriend is the President Fandisc, Otometeki Koi Kakumei, PersonA: Opera za no Kaijin, Play! Play! Play! San, Remember 11, Sakura Taisen 1-2-3-4, Silver Chaos box set, Sekaide Ichiban Da Me na Koi, Suku Suku Mizugi, Swan Song, Triangle Heart 1-2-3 (right)

3-4BSono Hanabira: Maidens of Michael, Lovers of the Atelier, Longing of an Angel, Snow White’s Knight
Tsuyokiss 1-2-3, Minikiss, MajiKoi, MajiKoi S, Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de

  • That’s 11Eyes CrossOver, which is in Chinese and comes with a memory stick. (Curiously, the script files – which are in plain text – have Japanese comments encoded in SHIFT-JIS, while the text itself is in Chinese encoding.)
  • The unmarked jewel case between piles is the PersonA: Opera za no Kaijin Soundtrack. Funny story: both it and the game came wrapped in a newspaper. The packing looked so authentically haphazard that I tore a nice gash into it about half a second before realizing that if it were the seller and not the producer that wrapped it, the newspaper would be in Japanese rather than French and would not have anything to do with the Phantom of the Opera. The soundtrack’s packaging fared better.
  • I thought long and hard about getting the Sakura Wars collection, but in the end, ~$1000 was ridiculously absurd when all four games ran me a fraction of that.
  • I own a game called “Artificial Mermaid”. Awesome.
  • I got Suku Suku Mizugi off a JAST Fuku-Bukuro.
  • I also own all the previous Sono Hanabira games downloadable. The book below is a Hanahira! story.
  • Both MajiKoi and MajiKoi S boxes are kinda-sorta velvety-ish, odd texture.

Shelf 3-5 07th Expansion, Misc, Innocent Grey, Sci-Fi Adv
3-5Higurashi When They Cry, Higurashi When They Cry Kai, Umineko Tsubasa, Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni 1-2, Ougon Musou Kyoku + Cross Expansion, The Guts! Remix, Lightning Warrior Raidy 3, Kara no Shoujo 2, Symphonic Rain, Innocent Grey Premium Box Paranoia, Robotics; Notes, Steins;Gate Linear Bounded Phenogram, Chaos; Head Noah, Chaos;Head Love Chu-Chu, Steins;Gate, Steins; Gate Hiyoku Renri no Darling, Steins;Gate Hen’i Kuukan no Octet

  • The Higurashi hard copies are the MangaGamer edition.
  • I own most of the stuff downloadable, including all three Higurashi games (Higurashi, Kai, Rei) in Japanese – except Rose Guns Days (I’ll wait for the complete version) and Umineko Hane (can’t find it).
  • Ougon Musou Kyoku comes with space for the Cross Expansion. Or was it viceversa? Forgot. Anyway, both are in there.
  • The Guts! Remix also comes with space for the rest of the rereleases, but I pass on that one.
  • The artwork on the Innocent Gray boxes is just beautiful. Wish the Paranoia box set contained all of their previous games and not just some.
  • I also own too many damn copies of Chaos;Head (iOS, 360) and definitely way way too many copies of Steins; Gate (360, iOS, PC – English version preordered).
  • Chaos;Head Noah for iOS is a real butchery. Most of the video effects are missing. Not sure if it’s the PSP version this was ported from, or something got messed up from PSP to iOS. Steins;Gate looks pixel perfect from what I’ve seen, or at the very least it’s much better.
  • Steins;Gate 8bit is awesome. The CD sleeve looks like a 5.25″ floppy disk:
    SG_hkno
  • Steins;Gate Linear Bounded Phenogram comes with a cellphone replica:
SG_pheno_cellIt seems to have prerecorded messages from some of the characters (AKA voice actors). It also has that plastic semi-sticky fingerprint cover on both the front screen and the “camera” on the back. It may look like it closes, but at least this replica doesn’t.

Shelf 3-6 Black Cyc etc., Publisher Sets
3-6Princess X, Princess X Fandisc, MinDeadBlood, Cthulhu, Cthulhu: Great Hunting, Full Metal Box, Yami no Koe box, Alcot Classic Works 2013, Black Rainbow Box, C:Drive Saimin Series, Liquid Black Box, Cell Works Collection Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, Volume 4, Volume 5

  • The Full Metal Box is not full metal, or metal at all. It’s kinda weak cardboard, in fact. On its back, there’s this:
    FMB
  • Princess X because !sex with computers!.
  • The Black Rainbow box comes with a uhmmm “micro ona cup” just for the head. You either know, or you don’t wanna know.
  • The Liquid Black Box not only comes packed with discs and a HUGE book full of stuff (most of which no one will ever read), but it even had an external disc with a copy of Orion Heart. When I found it loose in the reshipper’s box I thought it had been packaged in by mistake, since I also own the MangaGamer release and never would’ve bought it in Japanese anyway.

Shelf 3-7 Akabei Soft 2 etc., Favorite
3-7

  • The oversized Ruitomo Fandisc box contains a Nendoroid:
    Tomo

Shelf 3-8 Misc/last
3-8Atled: Everlasting Song, Casual Romance Club, Darkness of the Moon
Id: Rebirth Session, Worlds and World’s End, Tenioah!, Flyable Heart, Flyable CandyHeart, Kimi no Nagori wa Shizuka ni Yurete, Period, Period: Sweet Drops, Quartett! Dracu-Riot, Farland Symphony, Galaxy Angel, GA Moonlit Lovers, GA Eternal Lovers, Gadget Trial, Harumade Kururu, Hatsuyuki Sakura, Kitto Sumiwataru Asahior Yori Mo, Graduation: Sotsugyou 2

  • Despite Worlds and World’s End being one of the cheapest buys, Tenioah fetched a good price.
  • Casual Romance Club is so ’90s it hurts.
  • There is no warning on the box for some reason, so I’ll put it here: hearts are NOT flyable and under no circumstances should you try to fly a heart.
  • My Galaxy Angel 3 did not come with the expansion for Galaxy Angel 2. 😦
  • That box of Darkness of the Moon is very fragile, and Gadget Trial’s is rather weak as well.
  • That box of Graduation is as big as it is empty. It’s also very very thin and just as fragile, so it’s off to the side.

Misc notes:

  • Some boxes are decorated even on the inner flaps, so there’s characters or text even when you open the boxes. This is from Sister Magic!:
sism_sleeve“Thank you for buying, onii-chan! (heart)”
  • Almost all CDs are packed individually, and all – ALL! – have a strip to help with removal.
  • Some boxes have DVD cases inside – I thought it would be for cheap editions, but To Heart and most of the Front Wing games also have them (the artwork in the FW ones is very good), and e.g. Grisaia 1 is very definitely the cheap edition.

Stuff I want but can’t find:

  • Umineko Hane
    Can’t find it.
  • Piece of Wonder (Hirameki)
Stupidly rare. I saw like three copies of Ever17 for one of these!
  • Myth
Can’t find it for sale outside Toranoana, which requires the full shebang of Japanese address input for registration and doesn’t seem open to foreign credit cards anyway.
  • The JQV expansion
Seems only for mail order/Comiket. Naturally, no point in inputting an international shipper’s address, they say so quite clearly on the order page.
  • Eiyuu Senki
Cheapest new copy is like $170+. Cheapest half-broken used copy is $80. WTF!
  • DeathtopiaDeathtopiaI saw it once available and I hurried to get it but the order was canceled, likely someone went in the physical shop and bought it before I could. 😦

Got a few more en route and a few more I still have to buy, but outside of those listed above I’m 99.9% there on released games I care to own.

These hardcopies are just a fraction of my collection; the vast majority are downloadables between JAST, MangaGamer, DLSite (English and Japan), iOS, Getchu and a few more, including lots more OELVNs. Ignoring duplicates and stuff like Idolm@ster but counting the ones in the collected editions individually, I estimate I own about 800 VN, eroge, related and the like.
