Paski sir - PDO protected cheese

Pag cheese has been awarded the EU-level Trademark Protection Certificate (PDO)
The process of protecting the authenticity of Pag cheese is finally over!

Pag cheese thus became the third product from the island of Pag, besides Pag salt and Pag lamb, protected by the highest possible protection in the category of food, agricultural products and wine. This category of protection is thus granted to products which have an extremely strong relationship with the area in which they are created. Every part of the production, processing and preparation process must take place at Pag!

In the process of production of Pag cheese, from 100% sheep's milk of Pag sheep, and when salting cheese in brine, only the salt produced in Solana Pag, bearing the ZOI label, is used!

From now on, Pag cheese gets a distinctive red and yellow label that certainly opens the door to the EU but also to the world and makes it more competitive among a really wide and strong community of cheeses such as French Comte or Roquefort, Greek Feta Cheese, Italian Asagio, Grana Padano, Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Romano cheeses, such as Spanish Manchego and Mahon-Menorca cheeses.

We are extremely proud and formally to belong to such a high and well-chosen society to which Pag cheese belongs to its quality for a long time. The last prizes we won as Sirana Gligora are gold at the World Cheese Awards and a maximum of 3 stars at the Great Taste Awards.

You can buy some of the above mentioned PDO cheeses, ie PDO protection, at our Gligora cheese & deli stores in Zagreb, Zadar, Dubrovnik, and soon in Split at 3 Vjekoslav Kljajića Street.
