Brockport, NY – The NCAA has officially announced the accepted entries for the Division III Track & Field Outdoor Championships. Brockport has three student-athletes set to compete at nationals;
Mia Montgomery,
Rebecca Heuler, and
Dustin Meyer.
Pole Vault – Dustin Meyer
As the SUNY Brockport program record holder for the outdoor pole vault, Meyer will be the only member of the men's team representing the Green and Gold at nationals. This season he placed second at the SUNYAC Championships with a 4.70m. He also was third at the AARTFC Championships by clearing 4.72m However his school-record mark of 5.10m has him as the third ranked seed for the men's pole vault for the NCAA Championships.
Javelin Throw – Rebecca Heuler
Heuler was crowned the SUNYAC Champion for the women's javelin earlier this season with her mark of 37.39m. She came back this past meet at the AARTFC Championships with a personal record of 42.07m. Rebecca took third place at the regional meet and earned a spot to compete at nationals. With her throw from regionals she enters the NCAA Championships seeded 14
th in the event.
Long Jump – Mia Montgomery
After setting a school record with a leap of 5.72m earlier in the year, Montgomery has improved on her own program record. She hit a long jump distance of 5.81m to claim the gold at the SUNYAC Championships. Then at the AARTFC Championship meet she took second place with a 5.75m. Her new school record jump of 5.81m placed her into nationals as the 14
th seed.
The 2023 NCAA DIII Championships are scheduled to run from May 25-27
th at St. John Fisher's Polisseni Track and Field Complex. Each day of the meet has the first events scheduled for 10am.
