Expected to challenge for the starting nod at one of the cornerback positions this fall.

2022 -- Played in seven games with starts against Montana and Montana State at the boundary cornerback position as a true freshman ... recorded nine total tackles (seven solo stops) ... season-high four tackles against Montana State ... intercepted passes against Sacramento State  and UC Davis ... broke up four other passes, including two in the snow at Montana.

High School -- A 2022 graduate of Cathedral Catholic High School ... under head coach Sean Coyle, Saunders helped Cathedral Catholic to a 12-2 record and the CIF-San Diego Section Open Division championship with a 48-19 win over Carlsbad ... the Western League champion Dons defeated Folsom 33-21 for the state Division 1-AA title at Saddleback College ... Saunders also played basketball at Cathedral Catholic and competed in track and field with best marks of 10.81 in the 100, 22.45 in the 200, 5-11 in the high jump, 23-2.5 in the long jump and 43-4 in the triple jump ... Black Student Union leader ... chose to be a Mustang because of its "great education and I am able to play football at the next level which was always a dream of mine."
