Knackig ist, was frisch, prall und fest ist und deshalb knackt, wenn man hineinbeißt. Äpfel, Karotten, aber auch Würstchen können knackig sein.
Knusprig (nicht „knusperig“) ist, was frisch gebacken oder gebraten ist und deshalb eine feste, beim Kauen kleinteilig zerbrechende Kruste hat. Brötchen, Cornflakes oder Chips können knusprig sein.
