"basieren auf" and "beruhen auf" is actually the same.
"Der Film basiert auf einem Buch." (The film is based on a book)
"Der Film beruht auf einem Buch." (this means the same like the previous sentence. It just sounds different)
"Es fußt auf..." means also the same but I never use it because it sounds weird.
"fußen auf, basieren auf and beruhen auf" means the same. but "basieren auf" and "beruhen auf" are used more often
