Major nationwide campaign will simplify and speed up the provision of accommodation to refugees from Ukraine in Germany
- Digital housing platform offers refugees from Ukraine the opportunity to find safe, private accommodation in Germany quickly and easily.
- Everybody is called upon to use the platform to provide available accommodation and private living space to refugees from Ukraine.

Today marks the start of the nationwide campaign “Helfende Wände“, which simplifies and accelerates the provision of accommodation for refugees from Ukraine in Germany. The campaign is designed and rolled out in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), the non-profit organization ProjectTogether, and the housing-as-a-service provider Wunderflats. The main objective of the campaign is to offer refugees from Ukraine an easy, fast and secure way to find private accommodation in Germany. The campaign is based on a new digital platform, which can be used by landlords and housing providers to offer their available private accommodation to refugees from Ukraine.
“Helfende Wände” acts as a central contact point for refugees from Ukraine looking for private accommodation in Germany. They can search for and find accommodation independently and according to their individual needs. At the same time, landlords have the opportunity to offer private living space safely and efficiently. Anyone wishing to offer accommodation, whether a furnished room, an apartment or even a house, can do so now and free of charge at helfendewaende.de. “We all can and must do something for the people who are fleeing from their homeland to Germany because of the war in Ukraine. This help must come quickly and efficiently.
