Kawasaki Motors Japan has announced the 2024 model year of its large road sport W800. The specifications and equipment remain the same, but a new color scheme has been introduced. The W800 is now available in two colors, red and black and gray and black, instead of the previous color lineup.

The release date depends on the coloring: September 22, 2023 (Friday) for the red and black, and January 20, 2024 (Saturday) for the gray and black. Both will be priced at (approx.) 8427 USD

Red is back after a two-year absence! Glad to have a choice of graphics.

The W800, introduced in 2011, is the successor to the W650, which gained popularity as a classic naked model. It is equipped with an air-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder OHC engine with an increased displacement that uses a cam drive with bevel gears, which was a feature of the W650. From the beginning, it was equipped with fuel injection, and while its looks retained the historic impression of the Kawasaki "W" series, it was also equipped with reliable and convenient equipment. Production ended for a time in 2016 with the introduction of the Final Edition, which failed to meet emission regulations, but it was revived for the 2021 model year. LED lights were adopted, and the wheel size was changed to 19 inches in the front. It also features heated grips and an on-board ETC system as standard equipment. The W800 Cafe, with its bikini cowl, and the W800 Street, with its wide handlebars, were also added to the lineup.

This model change does not change the equipment or specifications, but only the coloring. The new coloring is red and black (metallic diablo black and ebony) and gray and black (metallic graphite gray and metallic diablo black), giving riders a choice in color variation, whereas the previous model had only one color. Although air-cooled big twins are becoming rarer and rarer, the engine already complies with the latest emission regulations, and the various equipment continues to be of the latest standard, so classic fans will still be able to enjoy the W800.

The release date varies depending on the coloring: September 22, 2023 (Friday) for the red and black, and January 20, 2024 (Saturday) for the gray and black.
Both are priced at (approx.) 8427 USD, an increase of (approx.) 225 USD from the previous price.
