Zusammenfassung

Vorgestellt wird eine 12-jährige Patientin mit erythropoetischer Protoporphyrie (EPP), einer seltenen autosomal-dominant vererbten Stoffwechselstörung, bei der es zur Anhäufung von Protoporphyrinen in Erythrozyten und Leberzellen kommt. Der quantitative Nachweis von Protoporphyrinen im Blut dient der Diagnosestellung. Das klinische Bild ist von Beschwerden wie Pruritus, Brennen, Erythem, ödematösen Schwellungen und Blasenbildung an sonnenexponierten Körperstellen gekennzeichnet. Bei fehlenden kausalen Therapiemöglichkeiten gestaltet sich die Behandlung rein symptomatisch.

Abstract

We report the case of a 12-year-old female patient with erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP). EPP is a rare autosomal-dominant metabolic disorder, which causes accumulation of protoporphyrins in erythrocytes and hepatic cells. Quantitative detection of protoporphyrins in blood enables diagnosis. Clinical symptoms include pruritus, burning, erythema, edematous swelling and blister formation at sun-exposed areas of the body. In the absence of causal therapy options, treatment remains purely symptomatic.
