Zusammenfassung
Direkte Gegenspieler des Insulins sind Glucagon und die Katecholamine. Glucagon ist verantwortlich für die Anpassung des Stoffwechsels an fehlende Nahrungszufuhr und wirkt überwiegend auf die Leber, wo es die Bereitstellung von Glucose durch Glycogenabbau und Gluconeogenese stimuliert. Die Katecholamine sind die wichtigsten Hormone für die rasche Mobilisierung gespeicherter Energiesubstrate. Sie spielen eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Antwort des Organismus auf Stresssituationen und haben ein außerordentlich breites Wirkungsspektrum, das von der Regulation der Durchblutung verschiedener Gewebe bis zur Steuerung des Stoffwechsels reicht.
