Camellia japonica 'Mrs. Tingley'

Unlike another common species of camellia, camellia japonica produces larger flowers and leaves when compared to the camellia sasanqua. You will definitely get some tingles when this camellia blooms. The Mrs. Tingley variant of the japonica species features full, double formal blooms that radiate a handsome pearly reddish pink color during the cooler months of December to March. Actual flower time will vary depending on your local weather. Growing a bit on the larger size of camellias that we carry, this pyramidal growing camellia can reach heights of up to 10 feet and a width of 8 feet.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting Camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. In clay soil we prefer planting with pine bark soil conditioner for Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, Azalea.
