Cielo had very good food and service. My wife and I were surprised with how great the chips, salsa and guacamole were to begin our meal. The guacamole tasted very fresh. The burrito was a nice sized burrito. I enjoyed the flavors of this burrito but wish I would have ordered steak instead of chicken. My wife's steak burrito had better flavor than the chicken burrito. I will definitely return for more food from Cielo.

Located at a strip mall near downtown Schaumburg, this Mexican restaurant seems recently built (or is it?). The interior seems more modern than typical Mexican restaurants. Their complimentary chips came with spicy salsa sauce which was really nice. We tried their chicken quesadillas which had lots of flavors and came with a good portion of veggies, avocado and sour cream. The downside was the chicken was kinda hard...We also ordered their shrimp burrito. They didn't skim on shrimps, however, the ingredients were not spread eventually so my half had a ton of cheese but no beans and shrimps...
Service was quick and attentive. Price was low (for today's economy).Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Katie M.Schaumburg, IL7783Mar 10, 2024
We ended up here by chance on a Sunday afternoon and decided to try it based on the great reviews. What a hidden gem! A clean, modern white tablecloth inside and friendly service greeted us. We tried the steak, pastor, and araba tacos and all were delicious. Do not miss the homemade guacamole--absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced too. We'll be back!

On a Sunday afternoon we were looking for Mexican food and found this on Yelp. When we walked in we were the only ones in the restaurant, but it did start filling up shortly after our arrival. We were immediately greeted, offered a table and provided with salsa and chips. The salsa was a bit too spicy for me. I had a burrito and it was so large,I could barely eat half of it. It was filled with pork, beans and rice. My husband had carne asada and shrimp tacos. The portions were very generous. Neither entrée came with sides, but they were not really needed. Overall, very good.

While this place has a very good menu and great variety. It's hit and miss on some items. I loved their quesadillas and was excited to go back to try 2 other items for carryout.
Sadly I was very disappointed. I write very credible reviews to help people make choices. Unfortunately, I have to update and take stars away.
While they are using all fresh produce and bread items, the meat on both of the sandwiches was not that great (breaded chicken cermita, Milanese Beef torta). When ordering, I asked if they used real chicken breast on the cemita which the girl advised they did. Sorely the chicken was more of a super very thin processed pressed meat piece. I didn't even taste chicken. The rest of everything on the sandwiches was very good. Basically it tasted better without the meat! After 1 bite, I threw the entire sandwich away.
They need to significantly improve the chicken used in the sandwiches. Chicken should look and taste like a breast not look like a super thin light yellow pressed object.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Sep 7, 2023Previous reviewCielo Mexican Grill is an excellent Schaumburg Hidden gem for sure! This is the best chicken quesadilla in Schaumburg!
Firstly, warm chips are brought to the table by a friendly server.Their salsa has a little kick to it but not overly hot.
I ordered the chicken quesadillas for starters. First off it was huge and took up almost the whole entire plate. They really give you a good amount of chicken and cheese! The delicious homemade oaxaca cheese was oozing out. Chicken (all breast meat) is very lightly seasoned. It's served with fresh made guacamole, and a nice dollop of sour cream with a tomato onion salad too. They give you such generous portions here of everything on the plates.
I can only imagine how tasty all the other menu items are! I can't wait to come back with friends and try their other items. Tacos, fajitas, burritos, Chile relleno, cemita poblano's, flauta's and the 1/2 pound Mexican burgers are sure to be really delicious! They have a really nice desert menu but you'll need to save room for it if you can.
Prices are very inexpensive and the value you get is better than anywhere else I've been. They do catering and you can even have small parties there. The restaurant was very clean, neatly organized and service was both fast and friendly. - Denise M.Schaumburg, IL251128Sep 20, 2023
Service was really fast. Cute small eating area. They have a cool table in the front with red chairs that have high backs. The place is very clean.
The food was very good. I had a Torta and the flavor was so good. Horchata was good and included free refills.
We will definitely go back again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - P B.Chicago, IL09013Apr 17, 2023
The food and the service were top-notch! Random find on Yelp to grab some quick tacos going to visit friends who live in a neighboring suburb. Decided to eat in. Ordered the steak, al pastor and shrimp tacos, while my buddy got the steak, al pastor and chicken tacos. Comes with two salsas and fresh limes. Solid service. I'd definitely return!
They give complimentary chips and salsa which are very good. Many of the chips were oversalted, so be prepared to rub some of the salt off. The salsa is excellent!
Looking forward to a return visit, when next in the area, to try other things on the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 17, 2023
I've ordered from Cielo 4x so far and try to order something new each time.
I recommend anything with their absolutely delicious homemade Oaxaca cheese :)
I also like their potato flautas.
The quality has been consistently good and caring.
Only thing that was a pass for me was their buffalo wings. Also I would prefer less salt on the steak because it makes my fingers bloated.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Michal M.Chicago, IL1741Oct 7, 2023
