Introduction:
In need of a haircut I decided to browse around until I came across Fade Szns Barbershop. I made an appointment this morning through their schedule app and within an hour or so I receive a text from the barber, Patrick, whom I have scheduled to meet at 2:30 pm. We exchanged text and I eventually decided to cancel my appointment because as can be seen from the photos I have attached detailing our conversation, Patrick is in dire need of common etiquette, commonsense, and business sense.
Service:
Through my interaction with Patrick I have only experienced coercion and utter disrespect. To Patrick money evidently is what matters [and he wants it ASAP]: service is the farthest thing from his mind.
Price:
A haircut can cost anywhere from $10-$40 with the $40s range being on the expensive side. I don't mind paying $40 for a haircut so as long as the skill of the barber and the level of service is there. Afterall, a haircut should be an experience. The haircuts at Fade Szns is $40-45.
Overall:
I do not condemn the entire Fade Szns shop for what happened this morning. This review is solely to detail the interaction between Patrick and I. Personally, I rather take my business elsewhere to other barber shops where the prices are cheaper [without having to compromise on quality] and the service is better. The alternative barber shops I recommend are as follows:
Sam's Barber Shop in Alhambra: ask for Daniel
Hair Club 20 in San Gabriel or Arcadia: ask for GeeHelpful 25Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Carlo M.Glendora, CA1623Feb 17, 2021
first time coming to this barbershop.
Patrick gave me my first haircut here. and i loved it.
and i love how he does contactless payments. it makes it so easy to happy through zelle or venmo. they are awesome with wearing masks at all times. and the staff , all uses masks and face shields when they do beards. so that gives me a peace of mind.
and the appointments system is the bear and so organize. thanks again patrick !Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jeff C.Los Angeles, CA24249Jun 17, 2020
I went to the shop and arrived a little bit early because in the appointment it said to come 10-15 minutes early.
So as I was sitting there I tried my best not to move, although the barber kept telling to stop moving which I tried to and whenever I felt like or was warned about it I apologized about it and kept it courteous.
I just felt like he was annoyed with me moving which I understand and I kept trying my best not to. I don't know but I felt like he was frustrated throughout the cut.
The haircut went the way I want it to be. He did a great job but I just felt like he was frustrated with me and my habit. I do apologize about trying not to move and I appreciate the haircut but I just felt uncomfortable being there.
What would the barber do if he had a client that had tourette's syndrome? Or Parkinson's disease? I'm not saying I have any of those but what if they encounter one with it. I'm disappointed with the attitude. And I hope it doesn't happen often.
Again I apologize
But I will continue my business elsewhere.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0Business owner information

Sorry if you felt uncomfortable. It’s just really hard to give you guys a good haircut when we’re chasing your haircut when you move. Glad you like the cut. Sorry again.

One of the chillest barbershops in the area. Everyone here is skilled and the vibes are cool. Moved from NorCal so I was looking for a spot. Saw that this place had really good Yelp Reviews so I decided to check it out. That was in April. It has been a couple of month and I keep finding myself coming here to get fresh.
Patrick, one of the owners, is the most chill. The spot is located on a main street so look for street parking. I think you can park up to 2 hours.
Overall: Will continue to return to get fresh.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Adam E.Los Angeles, CA763715Jan 6, 2019
In a world of Supercuts and Fantastic Sams, this place is Rosemead's hidden gem when it comes to quality haircuts for the price.
I have definitely been impressed with the past couple of cuts I received and have become a regular in recent months.
The place is CASH ONLY, so come prepared with the right amount before arrival. They do have an ATM on site, but I'd save on the stress.
The only down-side is the wait times, which vary on the barbers and the music which can be loud at times. However, rest assured they'll spend quality time on your fade and that the environment is welcoming for everyone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sabby C.El Monte, CA06May 24, 2021
Waste of money spent. My Husband made appointment here today, he was disapointed with the service he got, Pattrick ,was late after he clearly said to be there on time or he would charge. My husband was trying a new style with his hair he said he ask the guy for his advice I mean these are suppose to be people with knowledge with different types hair and hair styles. If you can't even go to a barber for simple advice and a couple questions after paying $35 in advance honestly what kinda place is that. I mean my husband said the guy was annoyed of him asking and he his responce was "I don't know man I got other clintes so you need to tell me what you want." ... the hair cut over all looked rushed and like customer serivce was just bad!! Customers! are only used for their money here.

Hi Sabrina Chavez we are very sorry for today. We tried our best to cut your husband hair the best way we could. It was very hard because he didn’t know what exactly what he wanted. So once he told us he wanted a taper and wants to keep the sides long so he can comb it. We tried our best to cut his hair the way he described the haircut to us.
Your husband appointment was at 12. And our call log shows we called your husband in at 11:57 today to come in. So the timing was on schedule. But It’s very hard to chose a haircut for a client. We have experienced clients asking us what cut they should go for. But we usually let the clients pick so we don’t have a misunderstanding if they didn’t like the haircut we recommended them.
Paying in advance is to save your time slot. We had a lot of customers book and not show up. And the $35 goes towards your haircut. We switched to contactless payments due to covid.
We weren’t annoyed. Just short on time for your husband time slot. We were 5 mins in his appointment trying to figure what he wanted for his haircut. Usually clients have a picture or know what they exactly want before they sit on the chair.
It’s not about the money to be honest. That’s why we tried texting , calling & also Left a voicemail to retouch up your husband hair.
Since we couldn’t get a hold of you we just wanted to apologize again. Have a great day and take care. - Steve V.Los Angeles, CA096Apr 10, 2020
Booked an appt on the app then while driving i get these long @ss text msgs to pay $50 up front with a description on the payment not to mention haircut on the app otherwise no service. I first I thought I was getting spammed until I matched the number with the booking driving down the 10. Bro be legit with customers. No one is going to pay all up front for something that hasnt been received. I found a another booking in Glendale with Jason @ the Den. The barbers are about the same price. I normally get it for $25 + 10 tip. For $close to sixty that is some wack service.
Too bad there isnt a zero star.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Renz Q.Los Angeles, CA461Aug 11, 2021
Thanks Patrick for taking care of me today. I love how he follows the COVID guidelines. And very strict when it comes to putting on a mask which I like a lot. Because makes me feel safe when I'm getting a haircut. Pretty happy he does contactless payments! It saves me a trip to the bank

Soon as I walked in the barbershop, I knew to make an appointment. Everybody loves going here because they are known for cutting good and great here. I didn't wait long before getting a haircut, and he took his time and I ended up looking like a whole new person after he was done.
I love coming to this Barbershop because they really take care of their clients, and they are the best in townHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 3, 2018Previous reviewI came in with a mess of a haircut & they fixed it up. The barbers are very nice.

This barber shop is great. I've been getting my hair cut here every 2 weeks and I've had great results each time. Make sure to make an appointment since they are sometimes too busy to take walk ins.
