After regrettably remaining a patient of this practice for quite a while, I am finally fed up with Dr. Hormes and his staff.
-When I call their office for ANYTHING, it is often 25-30 minutes before the switchboard EVEN ANSWERS!
-The majority of the staff is just horrible (not all). I have had them threaten to hang up on me, not return my calls, roll their eyes at me, laugh at me...... When I told Dr. Hormes about my problems with his rude staff, he told me he's not responsible for his staff's behavior.
-I sent him two message through his Portal when his staff didn't return my calls, and he never responded (actually told me he never received them, although they're right there is my "sent messages" on my Portal site.)
-Walmart called them three times in a month for a refill, and they never responded, and I never got the refill. (It can't be safe to just stop taking a medication cold turkey like that!)
-Dr. Hormes will never let me talk and condescendingly interrupts after a sentence or two. Then he actually changes the subject!!!
-Several times, he's tried to prescribe medications that have been prescribed to me before (that didn't work) for my migraines -- it's obvious that he never reads my records before an appointment.
-He's TWICE simply gotten up and walked out of the room when I've tried to explain what's going on.
-During my last visit (before he walked out), I told him my latest medication wasn't working. He left the office had the nurse come in with two samples of the same medication for me (???????)
-He told me at the last appointment that he'll gladly refer me to another Neurologist if I'm unhappy with him. He said he's done that for many of his patients (???). I don't see how I can trust him to recommend another doctor if that doctor is someone he's recommending!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sharon C.Powder Springs, GA01Nov 9, 2020
Dr. Hormes took care of my mother who had a brain tumor. He was honest, forthright, and advised us well. We didn't listen as closely as we should have but he was a great doctor during those two and a half months.
About 10 years later Dr. Hormes told us Dad had dementia. He, again, was honest, forthright and caring. Couldn't ask for better
I'm going to see him soon myself for a baseline. The only one I asked for with my G.P.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - V H.Marietta, GA023Sep 24, 2018First to Review
I booked a New Patient appt almost 3 months ahead. I was told the office called 1 Business Day before my appt saying they cancelled it and scheduled me for a random day next month(without checking with me). I didn't get the voicemail and showed up for my Monday appt, only to be told that it was cancelled and there was no doctor available to see me, even though I was already at the office. The waiting room was completely empty as well. Horrible 1st impression for new patients; never going back!
