Kate Nash has reflected on her experiences in the music industry, saying there are people that she regrets working with.
The Foundations singer said she should have ‘stood up for myself more’ when she was a singer, and now encourages female musicians to approach her if they need advice.
Speaking on the red carpet at the SAG Awards, Kate said: ‘When I was younger there was definitely people in the music industry where I think, I don’t really know what your interests were or whether you had my best interests at heart, or whether I should have stood up for myself more.

‘But you learn from your experiences and I feel like they’ve shaped me. I always advocate for other women in music to contact me if they need to talk to me, I try and create that space because I didn’t really have anyone to reach out to.
‘I do want to be there for other women who go through anything like I did. Hopefully we can just knock down those barriers and create just more enjoyable environments for everyone to work and live in really. It’s not crazy is it? Just don’t be a dick basically.’
Kate headed to the event with the cast of her Netflix show, Glow. Star Alison Brie has been nominated for outstanding actress in a supporting role in a comedy series.
