Christina Perri taking social media break to ‘heal’ after pregnancy loss

Christina Perri is continuing “to heal” two weeks after she announced the loss of her baby.

Sharing an update to Instagram on Tuesday, the “Jar of Hearts” singer, 34, posted a photo of her 2-year-old daughter Carmella and her dog.

“hi friends. i couldn’t think of one thing that felt appropriate to post after my last post other than carmella and our little pug puppy, chocolate chip. she has brought a little bit of joy back into our house. honestly she hasn’t left my side [sic],” she wrote alongside the snap.

In November, Perri — who married husband Paul Costabile in 2017 — was hospitalized with pregnancy complications. She announced soon after that her baby girl was “born silent.”

“The days have been long and yet also feel like they all blend into one,” she continued. “we’re not ok, but we believe in a day we will be. me, paul, and carmella all wrap each other up in love and in sadness everyday.

“we’re learning to navigate our grief together. some days we can’t swim, some days we float fine. every day we burst into tears and every day we find moments to laugh. it’s been all the feelings, all the emotions, all the questions, all the anger, all the sadness; all day long. some moments of surrender and hope slip in there, but not often. i know that’s all normal [sic].”

She said that the experience has been “mostly overwhelming” but she is also grateful for the outpouring of love and support that she has gotten.

“yes, it’s been the worst experience of my life, but how bittersweet to also be the most loved i’ve ever felt at the same time [sic].”

Perri announced she would be taking a break from social media as well so she “can continue to heal” with her family and she is looking forward to sharing new music when the time is right.
