Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Have a Glam Red Carpet Date Night at Breakthrough Prize Ceremony

Who doesn't love a good excuse for a date night without the kids?

Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry did just that on April 13 when they stepped out for the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Los Angeles.

The two made a glam appearance in coordinating looks. Perry, 39, wore a chic black strapless dress featuring a sculpted bodice and a bell skirt, paired with pointy-toe shoes. She styled her long hair in a wrapped braid and carried a small metallic bag.

Her Pirates of the Caribbean star partner, 47, sported a classic black tux and white button-down shirt. The pair held hands and quietly chatted with each other on the carpet, and at one point, Bloom reached out to adjust Perry's dress.

Though Perry, who shares daughter Daisy Dove, 3, with Bloom, has stepped out for a number of red carpets recently, it's been a minute since the two of them have had a fashion-forward red carpet date.

The Los Angeles event, which celebrates scientific achievement and also has other notable attendees like Kim Kardashian, Drew Barrymore and Robert Downey Jr., is the perfect spot for the parents to re-enter the night-out scene. The star-studded event is being held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures with James Corden hosting for the evening.

They did have quite the fashionable outing at Wimbledon in July 2023, though. Both dressed to impress in their dapper looks: Bloom in a blue suit with a striped button-down and blue tie, topped off with sunglasses, and Perry in an off-the-shoulder shirt and polka-dot neck scarf. She also completed her look with sunglasses and rocked of-the-moment baby bangs.

The couple, who met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty, cuddled up close to each other. Between kisses and whispering in each other’s ears, the two fully participated in the Wimbledon play-by-play, rooting for their favorite players.
