I’m almost embarrassed posting this because it’s so simple. Persians love their yogurt dips and this is definitely the easiest one… and maybe one of the most delicious. Yogurt and shallot. If you can use labneh it’s that much better. You let it hang in the fridge a bit to mellow out the oniony flavor and the result is fantastic. Great with kabobs, veggies or (like a true French onion dip)… potato chips.
You’ll need:
2 cups labneh or Greek yogurt (full fat)
Medium shallot
1 tablespoon chopped chives (optional)
Salt/pep
To Make:
Finely mince the shallot. Combine with the labneh. Season with salt/pep. Let sit for at least one hour, overnight is even better. Garnish with chives.
