It has pharyngeal teeth that it uses to crush snails and crustaceans it finds in the sand. It buries itself in sand at night. Husbandry: Marble Wrasses may eat small fish and ornamental crustaceans so caution is advised with this species in invertebrate aquarium systems. This is an active species that generally coexists well with other peaceful species. It may be aggressive with other wrasses. It will likely flip over rocks and coral to search for prey.
