A small cactus whose thin stems grow upright into a large, mostly flat, cluster. It's curved spines are white to beige in colour, and grow in a curly, dense mass, hence the name "Bird's Nest Cactus". The spines are soft and bristly instead of the usual prickly spines.
It has small white to greenish, lightly scented, funnel shaped flowers, typical of the Mammillaria, in spring to summer.
Mammillaria camptotricha cv. Curvispina needs a well draining soil medium and plenty of light. Water when the soil is almost completely dry in spring and summer and less frequently in winter. Frost tolerant if kept dry.Synonyms
