Before Tokio Hotel Bill and Tom (twin brothers) had played small shows. Tom played guitar and Bill ran with his talent for singing. At one of their early shows an audience member ( Gustav), approached them at the end of the show and told them how he loved their show and offered to be their drummer. The twins took him up on his offer, and Gustav introduced them to a friend (Georg) and he promptly offered to be the bassist for the band. The four boys started this band at an early age for all of them 2003. Bill and Tom were around 13, Gustav 14, and Georg 15. They began playing concerts of roughly 20 people. They named the band DEVILISH for their devilishly good music. In 2005 they changed the name to Tokio Hotel and debuted the song Durch Den Monsoon, sung in their native tongue German. They immediately began playing shows around the world. The first album released, Schrei, was an instant hit. They began the Schrei tour and fans all over began learning German so they could sing along with Bill. The energy brought to the stage by the guys cannot be matched, because of their unique sound and passion to play. They released their 2nd album Zimmer 483 in 2006 and quickly followed it with another successful tour on into 2007. In 2008 they began the Schrei tour all over again… this time with a twist. It was in English. Schrei translates to Scream. Along with the song which made them famous, “Monsoon” they released their 3rd album Scream all in English except for Monsoon.

Around this time tragedy struck lead singer Bill. During a major concert his voice began to fail. He eventually lost his voice completely. He returned home to Germany to consult professionals. Meanwhile, concerts all over America had to be cancelled. Bill had to have surgery on his vocal chords. After an extensive recovery process, thankfully Bill’s voice returned full force.Bill had almost the career he had worked so hard for. Tokio Hotel continued touring, and in 2009 they released “Humanoid” their 4th studio album….What’s next for Tokio Hotel? It appears that they are back in the studio and possibly working on another tour. After such of an amazing start and their earth shattering performances, It is clear that no matter what, Tokio Hotel will forever remain in the hearts of fans all over the world.
