Up for sale is my beloved DG505MB. It needs absolutely nothing.
IT HAS A BRAND NEW SOLO 2625 ENGINE - SN531, READY TO TAXI AND SELF LAUNCH, 5.5 hours on the clock, *ENGINE PARTS SUPPORT* (unlike Rotax) and no Maintenance Contract with DG! The drive belt, pulleys and everything wearable are brand new, 5.5 hours on everything.
Exterior: The gelcoat overall is very good, no crazing. It's not perfect, but I'd give it a 4/5. The tail dolly and wing rigger have caused superficial damage in those areas.
Avionics:
-LXNAV S-100 front and rear seats in 80mm with AHRS and HAWK options
-Powerflarm Fusion and Trig TT22 ADS-B out. So you have both ADS-B In and Out as well as Flarm TX/RX.
-Air Avionics 80mm traffic awareness display in the front seat and 57mm in the rear seat. This is a dedicated display solely for displaying traffic, and this is extremely helpful for traffic awareness.
-The Trig TT22 is decked out with all the required boxes to make it so that others who have ADS-B In will see you. This has been immensely helpful for the busy area where I fly. It's a massive step in the direction of being seen by jets and training aircraft. Class B airspace approved!
-Altimeter is an Air Avionics 57mm "Air Control Display" - This unit has the ability to control an Air Avionics Transponder (or the Trig) and Air Avionics Com - Thus freeing up 2x more slots in the cockpit not to mention the weight reduction.
-The radio works perfectly and has been confirmed several times transmissions around 100nm, so no issues there. Reception is even better. It's factory from DG.
-Turn coordinator is also factory DG
-DEI is factory DG
-Twin LifePO4 batteries, 22ah and 11ah! You will NEVER run out of juice!
-DG engine batteries, on a separate system from the avionics. Avionics run independently of the engine batteries, except for the radio. This preserves precious starting amps needed for "when you need it" in the air. The engine battery health is 5/5.
Equipment:
Jumping cables, ground gear to rig the glider, specialty tools for servicing, and maybe $4,000 in spare parts from both the previous owner and parts I decided to carry.
Flying:
This is the most forgiving glider I've ever flown. It handles wonderfully and carries a lot of energy - in a good way! The full span flaperons are intoxicating. The roll rate and roll authority at low speed is incredible. The spoilers are incredible. The massive vertical stab is obvious and the rudder is also the same. The large horizontal stab and massive elevator yields a very impressive CG range. It's almost impossible to be out of CG flying double pilots! There is a trim weight section in the nose for single pilot and non-dumping water ballast in the tail for optimizing CG with double pilots. I've flown it with forward and aft CG (within limits obviously) and it is absolutely wonderful to fly in every way. You don't need to use water ballast in the tail to fly with double pilots, but it seems to help it thermal nice and tight, around 40kts if needed with two pilots.
I can demo the glider for you with it being a double seater - it would also be a great excuse to go soaring.
You can see a lot of my experience with it on YouTube as well: Look up @thesoaringchannel

I hope this answers a lot of the questions you'll likely have, and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
