South Bend's Regional Innovation and Startup Education, also known as RISE, is hosting its first annual RISE Fest to celebrate the achievements of student startups of all ages across the state of Indiana.

You'll be able to shop local at Innovation Way and at Validation Valley. RISE students will be selling the prototypes they've been working on.

Iris Hammel, the executive director for RISE, says the minimum investment is the price it costs the businesses to offer their experience. This means local businesses are paid first, then RISE receives a donation from any amount over that price.

The Kidpreneur Zone is a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County. The kids will be there presenting their entrepreneurial projects.

Don't forget about the film festival produced by EM EN Studios. Four short films about RISE entrepreneurs will be competing for contracts for future RISE video projects.

Later, there'll be a concert by the local startup, Juke.

The event is Friday, May 7th at Howard Park, 219 S St. Louis Blvd, South Bend, IN 46617.

Event details are below:

– 5:00 – 6:30 pm Booth Expo

– 6:30 – 8:30 pm Film Festival & Scheduled Programming

– 8:30 – 10:30 pm Concert
