Exit 25 B departs at the Almonesson Road (CR 621) over crossing for Route 47 (Delsea Drive). Delsea Drive carries the state route northward through Westville to Broadway (CR 551). 12/18/16

A loop ramp departs the southbound c/d roadway for both U.S. 130 (Crown Point Avenue) north and Elberne Avenue. Northbound U.S. 130 separates from the freeway overhead. 12/18/16
U.S. 130 southbound joins the c/d roadway for Exit 22 from Crown Point Avenue ahead of the exchange with Hessian Avenue (CR 624). Hessian Avenue heads northwest from Route 45 at Woodbury to the borough of National Park. 12/18/16
The next exit along the I-295 mainline serves CR 644 (Red Bank Avenue) in 0.75 miles. Red Bank Avenue links the freeway with Route 45 and CR 551 at Woodbury to the south and Hessian Avenue (CR 642) and Red Bank along the Delaware River to the north. 12/18/16

I-295/U.S. 130 south combine ahead of the CR 642 overpass. The two routes overlap for 9.1 miles between Westville and Bridgeport. A lane drop occurs at upcoming Exit 22 for CR 644 (Red Bank Avenue). 12/18/16
Exit 22 leaves I-295/U.S. 130 southbound for CR 644 (Red Bank Avenue). Red Bank Avenue concludes at Red Bank to the north outside National Park. Southward CR 644 travels 1.25 miles to Route 45 at Woodbury. 12/18/16
Crown Point Road comprises the frontage road system of I-295/U.S. 130 between Westville and Thorofare. The parallel roadways represent the original U.S. 130 alignment before the construction of I-295. Route 44 follows the north side road from Woodbury Creek and Exit 21 into Thorofare. 12/18/16

A parclo interchange joins I-295/U.S. 130 with CR 656 (Mantua Grove Road) at Exit 19. CR 656 heads 1.75 miles east to meet CR 551 (Kings Highway) at Mantua. 12/18/16
Exit 19 leaves I-295/U.S. 130 southbound for CR 656 (Mantua Grove Road). Route 44 and I-295/U.S. 130 both cross Mantua Creek nearby into the borough of Paulsboro. 12/18/16
CR 667 (Delaware Street) meets I-295/U.S. 130 a half mile south of Route 44 (Broad Street) in Downtown Paulsboro. A c/d roadway serves both Delaware Street and adjacent CR 678 (Berkley Road). 12/18/16

U.S. 322 links I-295 with the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 2 four miles to the east near Swedesboro and intersects Route 45 (Main Street) in Mullica Hill in seven miles. 12/18/16
A three quarter interchange joins Interstate 295 south with U.S. 322 east at Exit 11. Overall within the Garden State, U.S. 322 travels 63 miles between the Commodore John Barry Bridge and Atlantic City. 12/18/16

Continuing south through Logan Township, I-295 next meets Center Square Road. Center Square Road doubles as CR 620, 5.68 miles southeast from U.S. 130 at Nortonville to the intersection of Kings Highway and Woodstown Road in Swedesboro. 12/18/16
I-295 passes under High Hill Road (CR 662) just ahead of Exit 10 to Center Square Road. CR 620 serves a large industrial park west of Raccoon Creek and south of Center Square. 12/18/16

I-295 south enters Carneys Point Township at the CR 641 overpass. The township center is located along U.S. 130 (Shell Road) at CR 618 (Hollywood Avenue). Forthcoming Route 48 links U.S. 40 with Penns Grove and U.S. 130 (Virginia Avenue) along a 4.26 mile course. 12/18/16
Route 48 previously formed a multi state route with SR 48 via a Delaware River ferry between Penns Grove and Wilmington, Delaware. SR 48 joined the ferry landing with U.S. 13 and Downtown Wilmington along Christiana Avenue. Ferry service ceased upon completion of the Delaware Memorial Bridge in 1951. 12/18/16
Route 48 (Harding Highway) concludes at U.S. 40 just south of the New Jersey Turnpike, 5.5 miles ahead of Woodstown. Northward Route 48 enters Penns Grove borough along Main Street, ending at U.S. 130 opposite CR 675 toward the Delaware Riverfront. 12/18/16
U.S. 130 follows Shell Road south from Penns Grove through Carneys Point Township to Deepwater. There is no direct access to U.S. 130 north through Deepwater from I-295 south. Instead Exit 2 C to Route 140 (Hawks Bridge Road) north provides the connection. 12/18/16
A three quarter cloverleaf interchange joins Route 140 (Hawks Bridge Road) with I-295 at Exits 2 C/B. Route 140 constitutes a 0.96 mile long route between U.S. 130 (Broadway) and U.S. 40 (Wiley Road) at the New Jersey Turnpike. 12/18/16
Exit 2 C departs Interstate 295 south for Route 140 west to U.S. 130 (Broadway) at Deepwater. Exit 2 B follows onto Route 140 east to both U.S. 40 east to Atlantic City and the New Jersey Turnpike north to Camden and North Jersey. 12/18/16
U.S. 40 west combines with the south end of the New Jersey Turnpike from Route 140 north and CR 540 south. U.S. 40 parallels the Turnpike east through Carneys Point Township along a four lane divided highway to Route 48. 12/18/16
A wye interchange (Exit 1 C) quickly follows for the continuation of CR 551 along Hook Road. CR 551 ties into Route 140 from Pennsville Auburn Road between I-295 and the New Jersey Turnpike. CR 551 extends southward another 4.74 miles along Hook Road from Exit 1 C to Route 49, north of Salem. 12/18/16
Interstate 295 South U.S. 40 West
Interstate 295 south and U.S. 40 west combine at a wye interchange with the New Jersey Turnpike across Salem Canal. Just west from there, Exit 1 links I-295 with the joint end point of U.S. 130 south and Route 49 (Broadway) north. 12/27/18
Route 49 extends south from U.S. 130 and the three quarter cloverleaf interchange at Exit 1 to Pennsville and Salem. There is no access to U.S. 130 north into Deepwater. 12/27/18
Route 49 angles southwest from Deepwater through Churchtown and Central Park in Pennsville Township, and southeast from there to Harrisonville and the Salem County seat of Salem. 12/27/18
Crossovers used during construction and by maintenance vehicles join the roadways of I-295 just ahead of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The first of the twin suspension bridges was dedicated in 1951. The second span opened to traffic in September 1968. 12/27/18
Paralleling Salem Canal, Interstate 295 south / U.S. 40 west ascend from Deepwater onto the Delaware Memorial Bridge. 12/18/16
Lane control signals operate throughout the Delaware Memorial Bridge system. These allow Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) officials to close lanes periodically due to construction, maintenance, inclement weather or traffic incidents. 12/27/18
The eastern banks of the Delaware River mark the state line. 16.27 miles separate New Jersey from Maryland along I-295 and I-95 south. 12/18/16
