N/A  Longer barrel a negative ?

I thought same thing...My .510 Texan with 650 grain spire point boat tails will scope any unsuspecting shooter. I don't let anyone inexperienced shoot anything over 460 grains. That is 1.5 once of lead....Power goes up...slug weight goes up...recoil goes.up...

I agree with what you're shooting. But that is such a tiny minority of what airgunners are shooting. I remember shooting my Marlin 45-70 at the range, sounds like a cannon. A buddy was near me and asked to shoot it. I put three rounds in the mag and handed it to him. He took one shot and handed it back. I told him there were two more rounds. His reply, "No thanks" LOL

When silence is a priority

I agree.
I was very hesitant, but eventually purchased my first electric bicycle a few years ago.
Himiway.
Love it.
I own several motorcycles, and electric will never replace a V twin purring down the highway, but....
Short commutes around town, electric is great.
Unfortunately, larger electric vehicles have a looooong way to go.
I saw a review about a Rivian electric truck, going coast to coast, pulling a small trailer with maybe 1500 lbs cargo as I recall, and it was pathetic.
They spent more time charging, then they did traveling!
But a small, lightweight bicycle = great.
Yes completely agree,...the energy delivery system isn't quite there yet and needs to catch up with the motors that btw are just fabulous and performance wise are superior.

But tech moves fast, batteries will get smaller and yet more powerful and the charging infrastructure will become more widespread ( footprint for charging stations is way smaller then for gas station and you can put them anywhere ) and the charging will be faster too.

so couple with smaller more powerful batteries and better infrastructure and EVs will in not to long become valuable even for extended cross country trips.

Also can you imagine if they will be able to have a mini nuclear reactor for vehicles, or something along these lines ?

.......Then with the phenomenal performance of electric motors, the magic carpet ride feel and the basically zero maintenance if would be a joy to put down big miles

Brocock/BRK  If I could have only one PCP.....

What barrel length?? Reg was way too high from dealer. 160 is as well. In stock form 160 is too much. I would back the reg way down to like 95 bar. Then back the micro not macro wheel WAY down and start retune. Sounds to me like you never had the hammer spring adjusted low enough for a low reg pressure
500..... yeah someone very knowledgeable about Crowns helped me told me and we started at a 100 on the reg the highest FPS I could get was 680!!! That's the gun out of stock me using the Allen wrench and FX chrony...hours of half turns shoot then another half turn shoot ect....and writing down all the information at the same time. So yeah one big headache....but with the ghost nah .....nothing like that ...
Maybe 🤔🤔 the Crown with it being a VP model might have a lighter spring hammer????? Or something with the valve???

N/A  Longer barrel a negative ?

I feel.
1: you of course have to tune for what you have, so that should rule out things becoming less accurate, also i would assume this is only so if you go from a long barrel to a much shorter and dont change settings CUZ then the valve might still be open when your ammo leave the shorter barrel.
2: in airguns i will say that changing barrel length in a significant way is sort of like changing ammo in your powder burner, you will need to adjust.

Personally i shoot the longest barrels i can get ( 700 mm ) and i only shoot .177
Mind you in .177 going from say 13 gr to shooting 20 gr slugs i do feel a increase in recoil, but at least in this small caliber you ought to be able to deal with that.

Hey while I have your attention, and we are on the subject of sights.....I'm looking to buy a Diana "82" sight for my model 75 t-01, have you ever owned one of these sights? Are they as wonderful as I think they are? Might finally have a chance to get one, but he wants a strong amount of $ for it......do they live up to the hype?
I've never owned one of the model 82 sights, but handled one at an airgun show a couple years ago. It is made by the Swiss company "Elit," and really lovely. I don't know that it will help you shoot any better than their standard models, LOL, but yes it is a step up quality-wise. Note that classic Anschutz sights will also fit any Diana rails just fine though and are relatively easy to find.

The boxed sight shown in the post above is a Diana "Diopter 60." It will fit the models 60, 65, 66, and 75 match rifles, and many of the older Diana sporters, but NOT the 75 T01 rifle. The "Diopter 75" fits the same guns. The "Diopter 75 T01" fits ONLY the 75 T01 rifle as far as I know.

These pics all show the 60, 75, and 75 T01 left-to-right. The latter two look much alike, but the Diopter 75 T01 has a narrower flat rail shape, and "T01" embossed on top:

N/A  Longer barrel a negative ?

I watched a video where someone started with a extremely long barrel, and methodically removed maybe 4" at a time, re-crowned, and tested.
The conclusion was that longer barrels are much more efficient, and accurate, but it gets to a point where the efficiency dimishes, and the longer length was not benificial, and actually caused excessive drag. So , I would say there is a fine line, between too short, and too long. 300mm to 700mm seems to be the extremes, for most airguns.

N/A  Longer barrel a negative ?

I saw a discussion where someone said a longer barrel like from 500mm to 600mm or 700mm on a air rifle will have a negative influence on PCP precision / accuracy, mainly because of recoil, shooter movement and harmonics.

What is your experience with different barrel lengths?
That is the case the Ed ( Edgun ) has been making for a long time.

Maybe not for professional shooters but I also subscribe to the theory, at the relative slow speeds we shoot if your follow through isn't perfect the longer barrels will be more subjective to effect accuracy.

Having huted my entire life with a 30/06. 45-70, and 12 ga shotguns I always chuckle when recoil and air rifle are used in the same sentence.

N/A  Do ALL Regulators use Belleville Style Washers?

I'm thinking they also use Belleville washers cause if you order one you have a option to get spare parts and one of them is the washers
Yes, it looks like some models do and some do not.
I suppose its a matter of size.
Seems like a great idea, when possible, to use a single compression spring, as opposed to multiple Belleville washers.
I just spent an hour watching several of their videos, attempting to educate myself.
Very intersting products.

Yong Heng compressor cooling mods

You’re messing with YH planned obsolescence program by allowing better cooling. 😬
Years ago I worked for a major U.S. earthmoving equipment manufacturer, a friend worked in another division a couple miles away. One of his projects was to investigate a hydraulic valve that typically lasted forever. The company was not pleased with that. My friends job was to determine which internal components could be lowered in quality so that they would fail at a certain number of hours. He was successful and the earthmoving company started selling more replacement valves. Sad but true story.

So incredibly blessed to have this one. I was fortunate to have prized this one from an incredible collection. It shoots beautifully right under 12 FPE as intended. I can't wait to get a scope on it and find out how accurate the Anschutz barrel is.
I haven't been able to find production numbers but it seems to be no more than about three dozen. Special thanks to Russ (RM100Guy) who educated me on these exceptional rifles when he got his unbelievable example a year or so ago.
I know of 3 here in the states. The one Russel has, this one and another owned by JohnnyPiston. Please let us know if you know of any others or can share any information about these guns.
