In recognition of the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who appearing on BBC television, along with the 60th anniversary of the first appearance of the Daleks in Doctor Who, the BBC publication of Doctor Who Magazine presented a fourteen part story of the Fourteenth Doctor, previously the Tenth Doctor played by David Tennant, bridging the gap where the Thirteenth Doctor regenerated and before the Fourteenth Doctor's televised special, The Star Beast which, incidentally, was a character from the Fourth Doctor's adventures in Doctor Who Weekly issues 19 to 26, published in the late 1970s.
Liberation Of The Daleks begins with a Dalek spaceship landing over the football ground where the 1966 World Cup Final is being played. As the story builds, we see the return of the Golden Emperor Dalek, originally featured in The Daleks comic strip on the back of TV21 comic and later in Time Lord Victorious merchandise, and the large Emperor Dalek which appeared in the final episodes of Evil Of The Daleks when Patrick Troughton played the Second Doctor. In addition to this, there is also a panel depicting the Marsh Daleks who made their cameo appearance in The Dalek Book from World Distributors and published in the 1960s. Another neat twist is where parts nine and ten use a similar style banner used on the back of TV21 comics for the Dalek comic strip.
The artwork is very good and the story fast-paced. Panini have excelled themselves presenting this complete storyline in one graphic novel. A worthy addition to the Panini Doctor Who Graphic Novel Library.

book is a welcomed treat. The book is fantastic and bridges the story between The Power of The Doctor (2022 special) and Destination: Skaro (Children In Need 2023 minisode) very well.
Terrific story and fantastic artwork.
The only thing I’d warn people about is the book smells REALLY BAD. The ink fumes are incredibly strong and you’ll want to air them a bit before settling down for a read.
