Tatum Krause wants nothing more than to finish her senior year without any more drama. Jacoby Ryan only wants one thing: to forget his past. The last two years have been filled with empty feelings in an attempt to stem the heartache and guilt. He’s ghosted blindly through the motions until late one night he finds a car stalled on the side of an empty highway, where he meets a beautiful girl with a haunted look in her eyes.

She has a secret, but so does he. Despite their magnetic pull, the two come to the shocking revelation their relationship isn’t so black and white. Is it possible to fight a bone-deep attraction when the entire universe is telling you it’s wrong?

***Received from author in exchange for an honest review.***

I absolutely adored this book. We meet Tatum and Ryan at the beginning of the book when Ryan stops to help a stranded Tatum. From the very get go there is an attraction between the two. Sparks fly, but they still go there separate ways. When they meet again they are in a situation where nothing can become of their mutual attraction. Animosity develops, but the heat still rises between them.

Tatum has not had a very good life up to that point. I can't spoil it for anyone but let's just say that Tatum has a good reason for being the jaded person she is. She's very smart and works hard but there is a sadness to her as well. Because of what life has handed her she has had to become hard and unwilling to let people in.

Ryan is such a sweetheart, most of the time. Because of the desire he holds for Tatum and not being able to do anything about it, not to mention her attitude, he can come across as not so nice at times. He can sense that Tatum has had an easy life and wants nothing more than to help her, if only she would let him. He holds his own secrets as well. Secrets that has caused him to hold back when letting people in.

What we have is a love story that seems impossible. Two people that carry secrets and are scared to trust. What Tatum goes through, and what she ultimately puts herself through, is heartbreaking. And Ryan, his past is just as devastating. I loved these two characters. The writing was absolutely suburb. It's hard to imagine that this is the authors first book. I was totally amazed at how well it was written. I can't wait to read more from this author! Job definitely well done!

I enjoyed this book. I'm always a sucker for the angst of a student/teacher romance. This wasn't the best book I've read of this type, but it was definitely worth the read. I enjoyed the writing style and the plot, but it seemed a bit rushed at times. There was a secret held until the very end, and it just didn't pay off as that big of a deal. I needed more details and background story if I was supposed to really feel upset of invested in that aspect of the story. It just seemed a bit weird and unnecessary. Either way, I liked these characters and the overall storyline. It was a good book.

The fact that it was a teacher student romance did not bother me as the heroine Tatum was 18 years old and not inexperienced and Jacoby was still in his twenties. They have good chemistry and the smex scenes reflect it. I liked jealous possessive protective heroes and Jacoby is. I liked that they were faithful to each other and that there were no long separations, which I dislike. I always want the hero to have loved the heroine more than any other woman but in this case it did not bother me that he loved his fiance as much as the heroine as she was no longer part of his life and he was able to love the heroine as much. A reviewer mentioned that they never get caught in a moment of passion and that was nice. I agree. Most of the teacher/student romances I read includes that as an element and I think it is unnecessary. I thought the actions of Tatum's prior friends with benefits actions after the relationship ended were unlikely. It did not seem to fit that he would act the way he did, regardless of the fact that he was drunk and/or high. I thought the scene that included him doing those things to her was not needed and detracted from the romance and the hero and heroines other problems. They already had enough to deal with without adding that trigger. I was fine with the HFN ending but it there is another book, making this a series, I want it to be about another couple with the Tatum and Jacoby as secondary characters.

great story line!!! Will be reading more from this author for sure. Read triggers before reading if not into dark forbidden romance.

Both Tatum and Jacoby have serious issues in their past that weave through the story giving depth the the characters and the situations they face. I did not know what to expect when I began reading about the "Forbidden Love" and at first was concerned that this book was not to my taste. I couldn't have been more wrong. A.M. Wilson delivered characters and a story that pulled the reader right in and made us a part of the book. I could not put it down. This is not your typical so sweet I could gag romance. I love it.

First book to be read by A.M. Wilson. I love that it's a student/teacher romance, but I love that it's two broken people finding their way not only through life, but finding forgiveness and healing for each other.

I really enjoyed this book and I was surprised to find out this is the author's debut novel. The plot was great, characters were likeable, and the love connection was palpable. The female lead character was very well developed in my opinion. She's a teenage girl who had to grow up pretty quickly because of her rough childhood with a drug-addict, single mom, yet, in spite of having to mature through hardship she still is a very young girl who has immature reactions at times, which made her character much more believable. I loved the male character too, but I feel like he could've been more developed. While I enjoyed the attraction, growing love, and the hot scenes, I was a bit put off by the hot encounter in the school premises, but that may just be the prude in me!

I'm hoping the author decides to write a sequel. I would love to read more about Jacoby's BFF Trey, also about Tatum's friend Kelsey, and learn more about what Tatum and Jacoby are up to next when she goes to college.

Tatum has had a lot of hurt in her life. When her mother almost overdoses, she's had enough. So instead of going into foster care, she gets the judge to let her live on her own. So between finishing school and working as a CNA full time she doesn't have much time for herself. But one kiss from a stranger changes it all...especially when she shows up for the first day of her senior year to find one of her new teachers is the stranger with a kiss she can't forget.

3.0 out of 5 stars very clichéd
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 22, 2015
It's easy on the brain to read. Jacoby is a little too perfect for a human man and Tatum quite honestly has some personality issues. I would sympathise but I think she is just a little OTT with her reactions (& I am a woman & mum so I have issues to deal with like everyone else)
I am a romantic but I like believable romance.
There are far too many clichés: 'gasoline to my fire' being my most memorable & too many block sections of 'our love is this...' that I ended up skipping most of it just to cut to the chase.
This is a generous 3 because of the amount of drivel.
