This is the ideal bread box for artisan sourdough bread.
Pros:
1) it's very lightweight and since it's collapsible, you can really reduce the counter space.
2) it's clear so you can see what's inside easily and keep an eye on the state of your bread.
3) the square shape let's you put things on top of it in case you aren't opening it up much.
4) the adjustable air openings let you control how much air is getting in. Perfect for sourdough which you may want different levels of air depending on the humidity to preserve the crust. (Airtight environments cause the crust to get soft and may encourage mold when it's really hot and humid) I think the air seal is good because I noticed my crust got soft after having it on the closed position. Whereas it never got soft in plastic wrap.
5) the minimalist style looks good regardless of decor.
6) it comes with it's own cutting board! The small white plastic square you see under their bread. Very convenient as you can just keep it sitting under your bread and won't feel like you need to wash it often. This was an added bonus I didn't expect and eliminated the annoyance of dealing with getting out the cutting board each time I wanted bread.
7) I could easily store my small artisan loaf cut in half within a single box. It expands to store much more.
Cons:
1) it's not really a permanent fixture where you can permanently stack items on top of it.
2) the plastic seems a little fragile. I wouldn't put anything too heavy on it.
3) it might not be as great for traditional sandwich loaves that are really long that you buy in the grocery store. It may be a little annoying having to pull it apart for that each time instead of using one of the ones with a door. Edit 9/29/21: in fact I find myself a little annoyed after using it for a number of months having to pull it apart because it's a little awkward. I've been considering getting a traditional bread bin but I don't because the small footprint and movability is nice.

I wanted a bread box for my sourdough bread and I couldn't ask for more. Yes a fancy expensive bread box may look a little nicer, but you'd be missing out on the many benefits of this clear, expandable box.
Edit 9/29/19: the white plastic thing that controls airflow has broken a bit so it's no longer snug. I think I've had this a few months. It's still useable but just wanted to mention it's a bit fragile.

I am in a semi dry climate and this keeps the moisture in for bread from a bread maker. I would imagine the shape is important for knowing if this will be good purchase.
