Utterly Wicked: Hexes, Curses, and Other Unsavory Notions Paperback – May 11, 2020
Purchase options and add-ons
Protect yourself (and maybe indulge in a little payback) with practical instructions from one of the most beloved figures of Wicca and the Neo-Pagan movement.
“Utterly Wicked is one of the most important books I own and one that every serious witch and magickal practitioner should have on their shelf.” —Mat Auryn, author of The Psychic Witch
Hexes, curses, and other unsavory notions—most magical practitioners won’t even discuss them. Why? Because they’d much rather find a positive solution that benefits all concerned. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Occasionally, though, our problems are such that nothing in the positive solution arena will handle them.
It’s time to make a decision to stand tough, be strong, and take definitive action to defend ourselves. And if you‘re ready to do that—if you‘re ready to own that action and take responsibility for it—then Utterly Wicked is for you.
Jam-packed with more than one hundred rituals, incantations, hexes, and curses, this is the quintessential primer for learning all the magical tricks no one wants to talk about. Do you know the proper way to enter a cemetery? Utterly Wicked tells you how, as well as the proper methods for collecting and using graveyard dirt. Explore the little-known secrets of the 11-inch fashion doll, and see why it‘s become such a valuable magical tool. Learn how to prepare Hot Foot Powder, Four Thieves Vinegar, Goofer Dust, and other magical components designed to obliterate your toughest problems. Most important, you‘ll find the tools to protect yourself, your family, and your home from ever being bothered with these sorts of difficulties again.

Do You Have What it Takes?
Curses are not for the namby-pamby. Nor are they for fluffy bunnies or for those who insist that even the worst of horrors happen for a reason. They are for gutsy folks with the courage to do something about their situations when all other possibilities have been exhausted.
But just the same, curses aren’t to be taken lightly or flung about without due cause and serious thought. They’re not your normal type of magic and certainly not anything that should be performed as readily as a protection spell or a money spell. In fact, there’s good reason that they’re usually at the top of the magical practitioner’s ten-foot-pole list.
Cursing someone takes an inordinate amount of energy. Energy that you’ve stored for other things, like the simple business of everyday living. And cursing someone effectively is going to wipe out all your reserves. It's important to remember that you’re going to be transferring that energy to the person on the other end of your magic.

Lost and Away PowderWhen dealing with folks who can’t seem to mind their own business, use this powder to get them out of your life and banish them for good. I’m told that it’s also an excellent tool for keeping others from breaking through psychic boundaries.
|
The Vinegar BathLong known for its healing and curative properties, vinegar also has the capacity to slice through psychic grime, making it perfect for this bath.
Add the ingredients to a warm tub of water, then stir clockwise with your index finger until well mixed. |
Oshun OilDedicated to the Goddess of the same name, this oil is not only used by women to draw love and money but as a protection from enemies as well. To stay on the good side of Oshun, always taste the honey before adding it, so She knows it isn’t poisoned.

Putting a Hex or a Curse in Magical Reverse
If you’ve resorted to this section, you obviously can’t retrieve the remnants of your original spell. You may have delivered a curse on the power of words alone. You may have opted to go the gift route and delivered something with a built-in hex. In either case though, you have absolutely nothing to work with that’s going to be of any help. This means that you’re going to need a lot of resolve, some serious focus, and the tenacity of the most willful bulldog. But if you’re willing to work at this, there’s no doubt you’ll succeed.
The first thing you’ll need to have in hand is a copy of any words (incantations, evocations, verbal curses, etc.) that you may have said while casting the original spell. If you kept a copy of it, grab it now, and thank the Gods for making you so analretentive. If you didn’t though, do your best to call it up, and spend some time writing it down.
Next, obtain an old, knitted sweater. The color isn’t important. Neither is the size. In this case, only two things matter: 1) You have never actually worn the sweater, and 2) you’re willing to reduce it to yarn. If you don’t already have something suitable on hand, check your local thrift shop.
Once you have the sweater, gather the paper on which the incantations are written and a black permanent marker. Now write the words on the sweater. It’s not important that they’re legible; it’s only important that they’ve been written on the sweater and that you have done it yourself. Use the front and back if necessary.
Editorial Reviews
Review
“Empowering and invigorating, Utterly Wicked: Hexes, Curses, and Other Unsavory Notions is true to its title as it contains an array of fiercely shrewd and cunning magical spells of justified revenge for every imaginable circumstance. It is also brimming with an abundance of recipes to make oils, powders and washes not only for cursing purposes but for self-confidence, protection and more! After having read this book, it is clearly apparent that Dorothy Morrison is an exceptionally devoted teacher. Most impressive, however, is her ongoing compassionate concern for her readers’ psychological and spiritual well-being. This book is, without a doubt, a treasure chest of precious information.” -- Miss Aida, author of Hoodoo Cleansing and Protection Magic
-- Miss Aida“Sassy, wise, and wonderful, Dorothy Morrison’s Utterly Wicked opens the gateway into a witchcraft garden that has been largely ignored. This book is filled with creative ideas for turning the tables, declaring personal agency, and correcting life’s little quagmires. Highly recommended by this village witch—go buy it!” -- H. Byron Ballard, author of Earth Works: Ceremonies in Tower Time
-- H. Byron Ballard“I cannot say enough about Utterly Wicked! If I were to describe this book, I would call it utterly amazing, utterly thorough, and utterly potent. Dorothy goes through the side of magic that is talked about more in whispers than it is spoken about openly. She has done a phenomenal job in showing the reader practical applications that will enable them to send their worst enemy to hell and look forward to the trip! Utterly Wicked is filled with priceless knowledge that any practitioner of magic should have. From rats to roaches, hair to fingernails, this book has it all! I cannot recommend Utterly Wicked highly enough to anyone that has a desire to learn. The power in this magical writing is one that will bring change to both the reader and their enemies!” – Hoodoo Sen Moise, author of Working Conjure.
-- Hoodoo Sen Moise"Dorothy Morrison is a wonderfully magickal powerhouse. Utterly Wicked is a groundbreaking and necessary work that tells honest truths and, more importantly, provides strong solutions for every eventuality. It is a must have for any spiritual person worth their salt." -- Lilith Dorsey, author of Love Magic
-- Lilith Dorsey"Dorothy Morrison knows that in real witchcraft wars, you don’t bring beach sand to a graveyard dirt fight. Yet, protection and defense are two aspects of modern-day witchcraft that are often misunderstood. Whether a neophyte or an adept in the magickal arts, I highly recommend Dorothy Morrison’s Utterly Wicked: Hexes, Curses and Unsavory Notions as the perfect introduction to this body of knowledge --Denise Alvarado, author of The Magic of Marie Laveau and The Voodoo Hoodoo Spellbook
-- Denise Alvarado“Dorothy Morrison has created a book magical people have long needed. Sometimes it is okay to curse and enact magic in anger, and she is not afraid to show us how. This collection of spells and ritual is lively, entertaining, informative, and–more importantly–forces us to a new level of self-responsibility and spiritual introspection. I applaud Dorothy’s courage for making this controversial material available after all too many years of suppression and needless fear.” –Edain McCoy, author of In a Graveyard at Midnight and Advanced Witchcraft.

Much of what is covered isn't actually nasty, though some of it is very, very nasty. one I just got shivers from reading and I wouldn't ever do it. Or let me say, I can't imagine what provocation I would need in order to make me resort to it.
She includes some cleansings, which are excellent. She provides alternatives for many things in the book from if you don't have a bathtub to if you can't find a reversing candle to if you don't have access to where you need to place or bury the packet or doll or item.
She has a common-sense approach to getting the ingredients to a spell. as an example, when you need sulfur you don't have to buy some from a metaphysical shop or the internet, simply scrape the heads off some matches. A very practical book.
Her primary requisite for the reader is focus. Will. Concentration and vividness in imagery. She seems to be spot on magickally, and her ethics and stance on the use of hexes/curses reflect my own in many ways. I like that she points out both sides, including to-be-expected repercussions and possibilities and then leaves it up to the reader without any further soapboxes or preaching.
This book uses a purely magickal approach: although she does mention particular gods and goddesses now and then, it has pretty well nothing to do with spirituality; that's out of the book's purview.
It is a book I would recommend without hesitation to an experienced, seasoned witch or magick practitioner.
She has a nice section on poppets, and from an entirely 21st century pov along with a short reference list of substances and what they will do in the spell you use it in. She brought up things about poppets that I had not thought of.
She is a proponent of using dirt in spells and hexes. Graveyard dirt, dirt from other places for other reasons, which rather startled me. I have been in the way of thinking that "dirt from a grave or graveyard" was something out of the middle ages that didn't have any real value to a modern witch or magickal practitioner. After reading this book, I have revisited that issue, and intend to try it out in workings I do, just to see. She mentions additional positive uses for it in other types of spellwork, not exclusively for cursing or hexing.
I liked the book, and feel I got good value for the price.

Totally respect her inclusion of urine as an additional ingredient.
While it may sound rather offputting to some,
Dorothy is unafraid to include what is necessary for a fully effective spell regardless.
Awesome book, one of my absolute Favorites!
Voto 8/10, lettura assolutamente consigliata!
